Do any of you Phat PS3 owners remember the ApocalyPS3 this year. That very annoying Y2k like bug that happened on the leap day in February, which caused some games (such as Heavy Rain) to become unplayable and in most cases corrupting trophy data. Fortunately It fixed itself the day after, but it became a day that some PS3 owners will never forget.

The question is, what did you do on the day of the ApocalyPS3?

I was reading up on Gamefaqs and laughing at the bat-shit insane posts, and sobbing a bit because I couldn't play Heavy Rain.

I tend to try and forget things with stupid names but sadly I remember it, didn't effect me since I was not on my PS3 for like, a month at the time. I was probably on the Wii or PSP at the time.

Up until last week my PS3 still thought it was yesterday. Ginormous update later and there are no issues, so, yay?

I didn't even know about it because I don't have a PS3. But I can just imagine the massive amounts of rage. People on the Steam forums go batshit insane when they can't play a game for an hour. People on the WoW forums scream in agony and shred pillows whenever their server goes down for twenty minutes.

An entire console not working? Wow. I'm surprised the world didn't devolve into anarchy.

I didn't understand what the hell were people talking about. I remember not turning the PS3 on that day, and the next day I saw all these posts and stuff. I had no idea...

This completely bypassed me. I have never heard of it before, and I don't know why I wouldn't have been playing at least a bit on the 29th of February... Might have not noticed because I never check my trophies and played a game that wasn't affected by it. Still weird though.

I remember hearing about it the day after. Didn't it only affect PS3 consoles currently online? I recall never having a problem with mine (and it was a "Phat" older model)

I would guess because this year was not a leap year?

It was only earlier this bloody year, of course I remember it. It's probably in someone's "Gaming Year in Reviews" that they're posting on their blog, their Gamespot Soap-packet, their whiny Youtube Blog, and soon will link it here, so that we may pay attention to them.

So Yes, I do remember it, and when the next Leap Year comes around, I'm sure I'll remember it again.

Calumon: I think I do. Jack was kinda made at the end of the month he found me.

I read about it on the internet, checked my PS3, everything was okay, went back to what I was doing prior to reading about it.

I was playing Heavy Rain on my launch PS3 which wasn't connected to the internet.
I don't see how, it also affected me, and I didn't even have internet at the time. The reason for it was, a internal problem with the clock reading a leap year (like the Y2k Bug did for computers when the millennium finished) and didn't have nothing to do with the internet.

Do you have a slim? if so, that's the reason. It only affected phat models of the console due to having a different internal clock.

From what I gather, it only corrupted your trophies if you played it on that day in particular.

Didn't have my PS3 until August...

But I remember people being pissed about losing trophies.

I know I would be. I love trophies/achievements.
