I just saw this:

Holy smokes. An eye opener for me as there are a number of fun people to take the part.

My favorite: Tom Hardy. Are... you... kidding me. That would be awesome.

Your thoughts?

I think I have to agree - Tom Hardy would be the obvious choice. In fact, now that you mention it, I'm not sure I could handle it if he WASN'T the next one.

That being said, here's a question... After all the super serious 007 movies, maybe the franchise should lighten up for a few films. And with that in mind, I present...

Jensen Ackles

The guy thinks Craig is a good Bond and thinks wanting established characters to be consistent is racist, so hes an idiot whos opinion I care not for. He could recommend me my favorite food and it would then become bad.

James Bond is a British white man. Not saying non-whites or women cant be great super spies, but they cant be Bond. Make a new unique character instead of trying to appropriate already created characters. I'm waiting for them to make a movie about a real person and try to change their race or sex.

Idris Elba
Hasn't he already stated he isn't interested in playing the role? And hell, given his physic, could he even handle the role?

It's not a movie, but it has already be done with the American founding fathers. It's called Hamilton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_(musical)].

I've actually warmed up a bit to Idris Elba as Bond, but I feel like he is too big. He's fricking 6 feet 3 inches, and looks like he explode your nutsack with three fingers. Tom Hardy too. After Craig, I think we need a more stealthy and unassuming. Someone like Pierce Brosnan when he was Bond. Who that is though, no clue.

John Boyega?

Of that list, everything from Cavill onwards seems like it could be a good fit to me.

Well I'm one of those who fell in love with the idea of Idris Elba being Bond next. I think he'd be great at it.

In the interests of not leaving my reply at that one line...the other comments in here...firstly I think Damian Lewis is an amazing call. The guy would do very well too. One of those two would leave me very happy.

I don't like the idea of Tom Hardy doing it to be honest. I don't think he has the right feeling to him. I'm also kinda...eh on John Boyega for the role; I'm not sure why, perhaps he just seems a little too clean-cut in that picture of him in a tux.

Jensen Ackles I had to google. He's American, so immediately disqualified on that basis alone. He hasn't got a bad look for it though.

What's wrong with his physic? (Do you mean physique?)

Not starting an argument here, not in the mood. Just curious.

Woops, typo. Nice catch.

In regards to his physical state though, the past two Bonds have been doing their own stunts for quite a few parts that usually would have a double for. It makes it easier on post production to have things like wide-shots of Bond chasing someone on rooftops have it be the actor in question instead of using editing to hid a double, so it's likely that whoever the next Bond will be will be someone the director will want to have do his own stunts for scenes like that.

Elba is a great actor, but I don't think he could pull that off. If he could, then more power to him, but I haven't seen any of his roles that would make me expect him to do so. Plus he's doing the Dark Tower series, and if I'm being honest I'm looking more forward to that then the new Bond. The whole Craig era bored me, I honestly couldn't even sit through Casino Royal the first time I watched it, and while Skyfall was better the other two where of similar quality.

Then what british actor would you suggest for the role of a lighter hearted Bond?

Rowan Atkinson

But he's already been in several spy movies, so...

David Mitchell

Huh. Maybe, actually. He's got a very British British accent. But I have a feeling people might think he is too young. Unless they go the 007 origins route.
