You are the hero, the "chosen" one, the guy who can single handedly save the universe. And the Bad Guys captured the princess, destroyed your hometown, and are planning to take over the world and then blow it up. But naturally, you can't save the day alone. So you go out looking for potential candidates for your party of heroes/antiheroes/whatever. Who would be your first choice?

The Man (Viggo Mortinson's character in "The Road")

This guy is jam-packed full of survival instinct and will-power.

That being said, any fictional character played by Viggo Mortinson would be a good companion.

See Hidalgo or Eastern Promises if you need proof of that statement

Can we pick anyone ever, or just actual, living people we have access to?

If the latter, either my friend Travis or Chase.

If the former? Hmmm... Thane Krios from ME2. Or, if he were busy, Dogmeat in Fallout 3.

Edit: In the time it took me to post my choices, eight others went in front of me. And here I was thinking that I was unique, picking Dogmeat.

Well since I usually play a wizard or other type of arcane spellcaster I would have to chose a barbarian or fighter.

I can't be the only person who thought he was in his mid-thirties after seeing him play Aragorn, can I? Seriously, I was really surprised when I found out he was in his fifties at the time that was filmed...

Anyhow, I'd probably pick Seras Victoria, Lucy (Elfen Lied), or any of the girls from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, as my companion on an adventure. Reason being, an attractive girl is always useful on an adventure, if only for helping to get into places, and it helps to have people who know what they're doing in a fight, too ;). Especially useful if the crazy psycho girls are on your side, not the enemy's...

Failing that, Samwise Gamgee, just because I've always wanted my own personal ***** manservant.

Scarlett Johanssen. Sorry to bring the tone of the thread down, but she would be my ultimate "adventure" companion.

If I can't have her, then I want Lassie as my adventure companion. Lassie is the best dog ever.

Yup, according to Wikipedia, Viggo Mortensen is 51. So I got it slightly wrong in my earlier post, he was in his late forties when the LOTR films were made, and he's 51 now. Born October 20th 1958, apparently...

My mate Rob. We've actually already discussed this. First gather weaponry, then booze and cigars, (and other supplies,) then make our way to Somes Island to hang out, smoke, drink and shoot shit.
