So, BVS apparently sucked nads. And that really sucks because I was super hyped for that film. Then after I heard that BVS sucked, Warner Bros. anounced that they were hiring James Wan, director of Furious 7 and the first Saw to do Aquaman.
And that just feels completely wrong. So, in fantasy land, if I was an executive at Warner Bros. able to choose the writers and directors of the entire DC lineup, able to go back and choose who to hire to start this DC universe, who would I choose?
And let's not pick completely impossible answers here. Let's really speculate on who might make the best film. Which means no silly Quentin Tarantino option. Some kind of realistic options as to who should take the reins on the films. So without further ado, let's start!

Man of Steel, Batman Vs Superman, Justice Leauge
Director: Zack Synder
Writer: Drew Goddard

Zack Synder is not a bad director. He just needs two things, a good writer and a simple plot with creative freedom. I really think the past few films have been let down by the writing more then anything else, and that falls down on David S. Goyer. If we had a writer that would research and understand the characters, could write simple yet engaging plots, and wonderful dialogue that the actors could deliever, then all of the problems from these two films would be seemingly fixed.

Suicide Squad
Director: David Ayer
Writer: David Ayer

Yeah, I would keep this. This just seems perfect.

Wonder Woman
Also keep. I think this was really well chosen and we'll see how it all goes down.

The Flash
Director: Brad Bird
Writer: Christopher McQuarrie

A) The director of The Incredibles and writer of The Usual Suspects
B) These guys have a fantastic working relationship together, and I think would bring the heart, humor, and fun to this character that he deserves. Mind you, I'm not the best versed with the DC Universe as the rest of you guys might be, but no matter how accurate these guys would be with the original material, there is no denying that they would at least create a fantastic movie together. And that's what counts at the end of the day.

Aquaman
Director: Duncan Jones
Writer: Duncan Jones
Now this was really hard, because Aquaman is kind of a joke. I was thinking who could take the concept of Aquaman and really execute to it's greatest potential. Now I don't read the comics, but I do know my movies. And suddenly Duncan Jones popped in my head. First of all, from what I hear, Moon and Sourse Code are fantastic films that I've been meaning to watch but haven't. Secondly, he's directing Warcraft, and that movie looks really great. So, this one is subject to change but depending on how Warcraft goes, I think will that will determine on whether he can take more fantastical material and make us care for it. And no matter what, he'll still a better decision than James Fuckng Wan.

Shazam
Director: Bryon Howard and Rich Moore
Writer: Jared Bush and Phil Johnston

Now, not all transitions from animation to live action go well, but I really think that these guys would hit it out of the park. The film is supposed to be the lightest of the options and their work with kid films would probably be a massive boost. They have great understanding of character, of film, of plot structure, I really do think that these would work out. And they will make some really fun and inventive action scenes, that's for sure!

Cyborg
Director: John Singleton
Writer: John Singleton

Now I know I've chosen quite the legacy director. But I think that he'll be amazing with this character. Not just because Boyz n the Hood and Rosewood are fantastic, but also because I really think that he's a great director that needs to get more work and could totally get more work. And also because Steve McQueen has to have his art films and do "important work" so I guess we're just stuck with him.

Green Latern Corps
Director: Gareth Edwawrds
Writer: Frank Darabont

Alright, so here's the problem. Green Latern is kind of fucked. People are really not digging him due to the Ryan Reynolds thing that happended a few years back. I feel really bad for Green Latern fans. So now that you have that problem, you have to pick a duo that will really bring their A game. I promise, you will allay fans with these two. The writer of the Shawnshank Redemption with a talented new face in Hollywood who has worked on ensamble pieces before, and they already have a working relationship because Darabont did an earlier version of Godzilla. I think they'll work fantastic together, and they'll make a great film too.

Wild Cards (Things that are extremely unlikely and probably impossible and or I couldn't match them to the right film but think they should work on something in the universe.)
Sam Esmail
John Hillcoat
Gavin O'Connor
Don Hall and Chris Williams
and more, but I don't remember any right now

Tell me what you guys think. I would love to see what guys you choose!
