So it looks like August will bring Just Cause 3 to PSN Plus at no additional charge (ha, see how I worded that).

For those who've played it, what did you think? Worth a download to blow stuff up if nothing else?

If it sucks I suppose there's still UC: Lost Legacy.

A friend of mine preordered the Digital Deluxe version, which he regretted immediately due to the horrible performance. He said it would be as good as Just Cause 2 if the frame rate issues weren?t so bad. Apparently, in Boost mode on a PS4 Pro it runs at a pretty steady 30FPS, but on base PS4 it drops to a crawl whenever the shit goes down.

That sucks. I don't think I'll waste the time to even dl it. Fine with just watching a Let's Play, thanks.

I just bought it last week and I don't get those issues. Still have to wait a bit for loading though if I die.

Got it last year during a sale at one point, and to date, its the only title I've managed to get a refund back from PSN due to the crashing and unplayable framerate levels. What I did get of the gameplay seemed pretty garbled and messy, frequently trying to find poorly defined objectives in areas. Though my buddy said its easier to understand what you should be doing and stuff if you played JC2.

PSPlus actually seems to have a theme going, cause the AC : Freedom Cry standalone was equally bad for freeze/crashing to the point of being unplayable.

Its actually quite boring. Missions where shit gets hectic are unplayable on PS4. I honestly don't know why I didn't like JC3, it really is essentially a better JC2.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I've been enjoying it, its got some really nice destruction physics. Its rather easy though, but a good relaxation game.

I had to tap out less than an hour into playing it. The combination of the filter effects they used and the wild frame rate variability made me sick to my stomach. Never had that happen before. Then I switched to Mad Max, by Avalanche?s A team, and during some intense set pieces the exact same thing happened! The only other time games have caused me physical discomfort is playing games with extreme screen tearing, which is a BIG part of why I never bought a 360, the home of screen tear.

I played it on Xbox One, where it was relatively fine (I only crashed twice in someone like 30 hours of play).

It's a fun game and...it's Just Cause. You blow shit up, do whacky things, hijack trains, blow more things up, ride nuclear missiles like a rodeo bull, blow more things up, fly around in a jet, blow things up, fly around without a jet etc. The DLC was pretty good too, though the DLC Weapons and Vehicles can break the balance of the main game (especially the EDEN Spark).

It has a jetpack with the air assault DLC. Get that and only that for the more exhilarating experience. Also great fun if you like experimenting with the various toys. I had spent a long night trying to attach 4 boost bombs underneath a coach connected to a makeshift slingshot to create a short-lived hover bus. It was not easy getting the right balance.

Aiming is an unlock. If that's not the sign of a needless and shitty "upgrade" system I don't know what is.

Besides that, the game is dreadfully boring if you're the type of person that likes more context to the chaos. The characters hardly give a shit that you're a nearly unstoppable badass, so I never felt like it mattered in context of the game.

Blowing up the exact same stuff over and over again only stays fun for so long, unless you're very easily entertained.

People like to say that the game is all about its sandbox and such, but if you've seen the youtube videos of people attaching rockets and tethers to cars and cows already, there's not much more beyond that except some passable third person shooting.
