So, if you haven't dismissed this thread as a troll thread because of the title read onwards, because I would like to discuss something that's annoying me about the community on this site. Basically, we call people who like COD, people who like MLP, people who like modern RPG's and basically anyone who doesn't like what the vocal minority likes are "Mindless" "Drones" and "Sheep". This may be the case, people who buy COD may just be people who are being hypnotized to buy shit, and bronies may just be people who are hypnotized to watch childish shit. But what I'm saying is that if you go by that logic, EVERYONE is mindless. Just about different things, here let me give you a few examples.
1) Pretty much everyone on here either loves or hasn't played "Wasteland". Which is a 20 year old, no sound, hardly any graphics hardcore RPG. It was made by Interplay, who have now shut down due to a MASS of stupid mistakes. Now, 20 years later the original developers (not sure though) have made a kickstarter fund for Wasteland 2. I bet a LOT of people from here donated to that. Yet, you haven't seen any gameplay, any concept art, and indication of what it shall look like, any info other than "It's wasteland 2!" and you are riding on the hope that Interplay is as good as it was, which is highly unlikely. Yet you still donated because of the hope that you might get basically the exact same Wasteland game, just with better graphics. You probably don't want it to change, or get more streamlined, or become easier, or reach out to a bigger audience because YOU want it to be a hardcore RPG. Even if it means that noone will buy Wasteland 2 because it's so hard and out dated with today's standards because it needs to be exactly what every RPG was like in the 80's.
2) Here's probably the one going to start the biggest flame war. The issue of Call of Duty. Basically, any mention of Call of Duty in a positive light here is always torn down and beaten to death by the exact same arguments, the ones about COD being the same game and Activision being puppy killing nazi's. Whereas Call of Duty IS the most popular game series on the planet, it's popular because it IS a good game that a lot of people want to play. Just those people aren't as vocal as the people who hate COD, it's the classic case of a vocal minority vs a quiet majority. If you hate COD you're just like all of the people you are calling mindless by liking cod, you are hating on something because it's popular and it's not what you like. You don't have to bother with COD, COD threads or even talk to COD fans. Yet you still post everywhere that COD is like a cancer, or it's shit and all of that and you STILL tear down every COD fan who dares to post in a thread with endless quotes.
3) Not being afraid to touch on some more taboo subjects here! Yes, I'm talking about Bronies and My Little Pony. Mainly the fact that EVERY thread about ponies that's positive and is basically for bronies to discuss things about the show is always torn down by people whining that we are shoving it down their throats. You did not have to click on the thread titled "Who is you're favorite pony?" or "What are your thoughts on season 2 of MLP" if you hate bronies and ponies so much. Yet you still did out of irrational hate and disgust of something you don't like. Then you are basically making it so it's an unofficial rule that bronies can't make threads about MLP because we would be shoving it down your precious little throats. One more point is that there are MORE threads coming from non bronies about MLP than threads coming from actual bronies. They're normally about "What is this MLP thing?" or "What are your thoughts on bronies?" which are two threads a brony would never make.
Now, feel free to throw any insults you have at me.
So Escapist, what do you think of this opinion? Do you agree, or am I a 13 year old kid who just likes to play COD all day (I am 13 btw).
P.S. I did not make this to troll, I must stress that point. I made this thread because I genuinely believe that a LOT of the hate on some subjects on this site is just coming from mindless haters. I also believe that we ALL are mindless sometimes, with the Wasteland example backing up that point.
