By this I mean two things
1) You play videogames as your main hobby, as opposed to coin collecting, swinging, baseball or any other things that people do.
2) You identify yourself as a Gamer when asked about it, you keep up to date with the latest games, know all the jargon and the in jokes. Despite there being negative stereotypes about gamers in general.
For myself, I never really thought about the first one, I have been playing since young, on Atari and played Wolf 3D when it first game out. I guess mostly it's something I'm familiar with and as much of other things I've done, it is the easiest and cheapest form of entertainment I know. (Easiest as in less human interaction and injuries)
Number 2 just happened when the internet was invented. Or maybe I accept being grouped within certain definable traits and have no problem claiming that I am not incredibly unique in this world of 6 billion
