Why can't anyone play HALO 3 well anymore?

Here's the thing: I'm going for both the easiest vidmaster out there, as well as the hardest one- yet every time I sign onto matchmaking to someone who's either decent, or can half-ass him/herself through Firefight without being either a noobish prick, leaving me after one hour of getting a ghost bumber through my skull (Teamkilled) A wraith bomb to the face, or know how to dispatch an engineer with one of the simplest and useful (One we think it not in any other Halo game) The Plasma-to-the-face followed by automag headshot, taking a hammer to the face, getting entire team killed by the noob with the rocket launcher, fire grenaded to all hell, guy who can't maneuver while on a ghost, guy who trys to steal Johnson's laser (Only to get said laser to the face) Noobish ten year old pre-pubescent kid who sounds like mickey mouse got kicked in the balls (Has RECON armor that he openly admits he glitched for, gamertag Sever the Week, PLEASE kill him, or at least hit him with the 4chan ban hammer)

So the overarching question is, will I see the same pricks running around Reach when it comes out? And Will I ever find some guys who aren't jerks and can actually play HALO and get the vidmasters without becoming a flood chew toy?

Because the real players have left the game, and now only the obsessives are left, strangling the life out of what was a good community. And because of that, like the denizens, youll probably move on as well.
Youll definately see them in Reach as well, no doubt about it. Theyve always been there, its just that now that the regulars have ditched it, theyre all thats left.

Also, slightly irrelevant, but lets use the word 'noob' less in future, it just sounds ridiculous in text.

I think we should stop using the word as a whole. It's just childish.

Perhaps you two are right in a sense- yet there are (very tiny) groups of about three players who at least are good and won't kill you just because your not the right species. I.E those who are actually good at the game and do not teabag and let the snipers have a shot at a still target. Still- is it possible to get a few guys from various places/sites back into HALO for one final go? I mean- one MLG is already use enough under normal circumstances. And now it is 12:00 here.

Those aren't noobs, those are douche bags.

My 2 cents is the fact that Bungie made the dick move of adding 80% of the fucking games multiplayer to the DLC list forcing you to spend something like 1500 points to earn the right to play content you already own!

MW2 charges 1200 per map pack but its not obligated therefore its a better game and ironically enough I think thats where all yhe good Halo 3 players went.

Umm

It's an FPS with over 10,000 people playing. You're not going to find good people all the time.

Whenever I played (year ago?) the community was filled with douches, I mainly played with a friend I met online because most people swore at me and such. I agree that the community has worsened, however.

That's why I don't play these games.

It's hard enough finding a competent teams to complete specific objectives in other games, like Castlevania HD or Red Dead Redemption. I couldn't imagine the nightmares I'd get trying to accomplish anything co-op with the total r-tards that notoriously inhabit the FPS games online community.

Maybe they all got bored? Just a guess. I'm looking forward to Reach. Forge World looks cool, people might actually be able to come up with some good maps, and I'm hoping the campaign is good.

i just played through this with 3 friends... one of them was very bad which was somewhat frustrating but oh well it was fun to give him dirty looks and yell "stop dying!" every 45 seconds but at least he wasn't TKing

Man, I haven't played Halo 3 in a while. I use to be pretty good at it too. Maybe I'll try it out tomorrow, I only play Social games now anyways, the competive nature of the Ranked games got a littler tiresome.

As for why you're constantly getting stuck with bad players and rude players, they're most likely the few players who decided not to move on. Its not like you're just a jerk magnet (Or are you?), you've just been getting stuck with players who never quit the game and just never got better despite the 3 years the game has been out.

Wouldnt it make slightly more sense to ask these things using a certain Platform which is designed to that end?

OT, Itll be interesting to see if the Community grows, or shrivels up and dies.

Yeah, there's 101,000 people online as of typing. It's a crapshoot, OP.

T'would be too easy ;)

OT: Halo 3 will shrivel up and die, Halo Reach will be moderately successful for 2 months then plummet heavily. That's my theory anyway.

it all went downhill after halo 2 is my oppionion XD halo 3 is just too gimmicky. and thus would not last. hell, thats the reason gears of war 1 is still a better multiplayer then gears 2 XD, ( jeah okey that and the ability to actualy bring a friend online, not this gay 'you need 2 xbox live golds for 1 xbox online splitscreen' you keeps seeing nowadays

Halo is more of a "hey lets stuff" around kinda of game when play multi player. Prof you say, well halo 3 has a game type called rockets, which is fun, but means noob will screw around more and blow up shit right next to their team and kill them all including them selfs.

Sadly i do belive that this trend will end up on Reach, becouse Halo is know for it's epic campagins and story line which will atraract every one from a pro to a noob, so my advice is all was buld a bridge and get over it. Noobs are on all games it is a fact of online gaming.
