Why do other young gamers have to ruin it for me?

Most of you probably hate young gamers, there is no reason not to.Whenever I hear a 5 year old cursing everyone out because he died being a noob.I cant help but thinking "It's your fault".I try my best to be respectful even though some adults can be immature,But that won't stop the other children from being retards.
For example I could be winning 24-0 in MW2 and everyone would be amazed at my skill and say stuff like: "wow he's owning us badly." but the second I put on my headphones and speak it starts to sound like: "ugh the f@g retard is gonna get a nuke."
This is why the only time I use my microphone is when I really need it to communicating with my team, and even then there is always the 2 year old yelling over my voice screaming "Stop sniping me you F@g a** B**CH S**T MotherF**Kers!!!".I wish there was some way I could strangle them through my TV.

There's a simple solution: Don't use the mic. Kids have annoying voices and I don't really want to hear 'em, so until you go through puberty and get a deeper voice, I don't want to hear you talk. It doesn't matter how good you may be.

Just be exceptional, and stay off of voice chat.

Most of us, uh, "aged"(20?) gamers will be overcome with dread just by the sound of a child or teen jumping on a server.

So yeah, keep rocking and remember, it's partially our fault too.

You could do what I do. You can to learn to enjoy their anger. They're all whining and shit, while here you are, working hard and kicking ass. Fuck them. They can't do anything but ***** and moan, just laugh at their stupid faces, tell them they suck and continue on your way.

Yes, I'm basically a troll. But respect is earned, not given.

Hell no, it's your choice if they dont like it they can mute you, talk what you want as loud as you want. They dislike it because they are gettin beaten by someone younger then them, they need to buck up.

Don't do what this person says. Hearing anyone smack talking or being a little c*nt is what ruins online gaming.

When I was a younger online gamer, I kept my mouth shut. The only reason I would get on Teamspeak or Xfire is to listen to what everyone else was saying. I had a mic, yeah, but I wouldn't dare think about interrupting the big kids playing because I know of all the stereotypes and I knew that most online gamers hated kids.

And plus, there's always the mute button.

You do know that they have voice distorters out there right? And alot of people that sound like kids are actually adults. Most people who have the distortion mics choose the ones that makes sound like a kid or a chipmunk. So, it is unfair to just assume they are all kids. Second, mute them. Problem solved.

Personally, sometimes I mute them, sometimes I listen and laugh.

The best thing you can do is humiliate them and watch as they go berserk. I knifed someone in the face earlier on CoD4 and ended up an inch from death myself and got accused of hacking by my victim, who then claimed that I was an 8 year old.

I don't even have voice chat switched on. Nobody listens to strategies or suggestions and all the majority ever does is spam their awful, awful music (CS:S, I'm looking at you).

I'd even go so far as to say that the FPS genre is the hardest hit by this plague of unnecessarily angry children who have a hard time dealing with losing.

In a way, I know what you mean. When playing Halo 3 I experienced the animosity you clearly do, except my "crime" was being English. I've no problem with giving as good as I get, but hearing "LOLOLOL UR PRESIDENT IS A RETARD AND UR FAT" for the millionth time made me not want to communicate with people because I knew it would end up in a UK vs USA debate 99% of the time.

Now I wish every game/console had private chat because I am sick of having to join a game with friends and mute everyone through fear of becoming retarded via osmosis.

i usually just mute people like that. i used to not use the mute button all that much but now i apply it liberally and without question if someone is obnoxious, then again all i play is TF2 so this doesn't usually apply to me.

You sound like one of the little kids I see often off hiding trying to TI-Nuke. That is one reason I find kiddies annoying. It has nothing to do with what they do with their mic, it is their inability to understand competition and sportsmanship. Not all are like that but ALOT are.Usually if I play for 2+ hours I will find a TI-Nuker and everytime they talk in the mic, they sound like kids. And react as a child would.

Speaking as a teen, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between me or a 40 year old man.
I'm 16 years old, my voice is pretty much done changing.

OP: Actually, when I was younger, I got the same thing. Just wait until your voice changes, and be sure to be nice and respectful to everyone.

Unless you are playing a match against close friends, in that caste, trash the shit out of them.

Uhhh... Horseshit. No one, and I mean NO ONE uses voice distortion, and those who do are painfully obvious.

Form your own jeesh. While you're playing, friend anyone who you feel respects you for your skills and isn't "ageist". Then keep playing with them. Remember, the Enemy's Gate is Down.

Just act mature and after awhile they'll get it, the gaming world needs more mature kids who speak up.

I don't mind them much since i usually don't play with a mike unless I'm bored and end up playing nazi zombies. Even if i do use a mike i just listen to people talking normally about different stuff or REAL game plans. Just mute them and move along.
True that most 7-12 kids that are playing are annoying as hell, noobs, and that they don't know when to STFU or leave the game. But they will grow up to be more annoying and noobish when they mature. hopefully we won't have to put up with them anymore once parents start being more responsible for their children.

Yeah I kind of agree with the others, the voices on children through a microphone are really painful to listen too, which is why people hate when younger gamers use microphones.

When I was younger, I was in a clan for Medal of Honor Allied Assault with a bunch of people who were 20+ at that time. They knew I was younger and I told them that I won't use the microphone as long as they keep the feedback coming on enemy positions etc, etc.

They were really sad to see me go when I told them I had to quit because my computer was dying. It goes to show how welcome young gamers are as long as they let their skills do the talking instead of their shrill voices.

When I got older and CoD4 came out, I recruited an 11 year old under the same conditions, and things worked out very well, he was one of the best on the team for scrimmages.
