Why do people beg for stuff on the internet?

Do you beg for stuff on the internet, and if you do why? I googled this and saw no actual question for it, so I decided to ask here for it.

Personally, I hate beggars for anything on the internet or video games, in real-life, I'm fine with them. As long as they are just the ones that just need a little help up, not the ones that are just plain lazy.

The answer is, the same reason people do any sort of annoying thing on the internet - it's mostly consequence-free.
