Why do people hate dark sector so much?

What is wrong with dark sector, everyone i talk to hates it for no reason, and give me no explination for their hate.

The game play itself was pretty good and the glaive was a fun weapon to use. If anything, there wasn't much of a story. The multiplayer also felt tacked on.

This. I personally loved the game, it was a good deal of fun and the arms dealer made me laugh.

I personally didn't like it because the main character was too annoying, not to mention the disease he has that causes him to not feel pain would have f'd him up in an actual gunfight, without the feeling of pain he wouldn't feel any crap getting into his eyes, thus not blinking to clear them, he should have been running through it half blind.

It was too... generic. The glaive was fun to wield, and it played a tiny bit like Gears of War, but it was nothing near ground-breaking, or cutting edge. It was just too bland for me.
