Because it's fun to piss people off. Personally, I never troll (at least not anymore) but I can see the appeal.
THey are trying to enjoy themselves and pass the time just like everyone else.
They just happen to get enjoyment out of pissing other people off.

Orcs breed them to carry and operate their heavy equipment. They're also handy as de-facto armoured infantry as Orcs don't posses the necessary engineering to built true powered armour.

Basically, trolls are people who want to piss off other forum users because they like to see them get angry.
Why? Because they find it funny when other people lose their composure, and they like to point out some people's lack of experience with the internet.
It is believed that trolling originally started as regular members in forums posting in-jokes to uncover users who were new and/or inexperienced.
How does pretending to be something you're not piss people off? I mean I would get pissed off by someone online pretending to be a beautiful woman when they are really some fat ugly slob, I'd just feel that the person is pathetic and that their existance is unnecessarySuper Toast said:

Usually they wait until someone expresses any kind of opinion, then violently disagree with that, and insult the person for having a different opinion.yaz1410 said:
For "teh lulz" is my guess. I've never been tempted to Troll for the sake of Trolling, and I tend to reign in my anger when other people try to start arguments online. I'll either flat out ignore what they say, or just admit that their opinion is right as is mine, and continue onward. I'm boring like that. I'm like the anti-troll.
