I find the words "gaming" and "gamer" rather annoying. It tends to conjure notions of the people who communicate with you via xbox live.

I typically play videogames because it is fun to play videogames.

I enjoy it. I have no friends in real life. I find it satisfying to know that there are people who take gaming seriously, and by beating them I am making them suffer (applicable to online games).
