Why even bother saving the world of Skyrim?

During the main quest you are asked by a character (who for spoilers sake will remain anonymous) why bother to save the world. Alduin has arrived to devour the world, and his logic is; so what? shit happens. The game gives you a few pitiful options ; its my destiny and I'm working with the blades.

So If I was a character detrimental to helping you save the world, and I was also a world weary, cynical misanthrope, tell me; Why save the world of Skyrim? (By this I mean in reference to Skyrim, I do realize the rest of the world will be destroyed)

Because without a world then there's nothing to do. I'd be boring! Ugh, no I rather enjoy this world, it's quite fun.

Uh... save Skyrim so you can be rolling in Khajit pussy? I honestly can't give you an answer. When bandits seem to outnumber decent people two hundred to one and there are random monster attacks every mile you travel, it really does seem like letting the dragons fuck shit up and rebuilding from scratch would be the preferred option. But... if i had to give you a reason...

Because if somebody has to end this world that somebody is gotta be MEEEEEE!!!

I decide how this world ends because I'm the murdering super villain.
The Thalmor and Alduin are just pussies with no real perception of power and corruption.
They are just scraping the surface.
The daedric Lords are nice, but they are so boringly limited.
I am the one true evil and as soon as everybody likes and loves me I will take everything from them.
First I conquer their hearts and than I shatter them.

If you dont want to save the world, here's what you do. Have your character jump off a kill or die via dragon. Then, during the load screen exit out of the game and delete the saves.

Congratulations! Alduin destroyed the world and everyone is dead (especially those dead). Hopefully your next character will want to save the world so you could see what happens next.

I didn't even bother trying to save Cyrodil in Oblivion, I was more focused on giving Fimmon his sweet roll.

I mean, how could I care about a world that has only five different voice actors, and they try to arrest you even if you are just holding a cup.

At least Skyrim is a little more likeable than that gaming hell hole.
