Assholish, egotistical, unfunny douchebag who should have never gotten any sort of position in the gaming media.

The way he continually "jokingly" asserts his opinions as fact, such as in this article [http://www.destructoid.com/the-irrefutable-undeniable-official-top-ten-sonic-games-204593.phtml] ("Sonic Colors on the Wii was sub-par nonsense and that's scientific fact, proven by science.")

Don't tell me you are joking, because I know with 100% certainty that you really do think that you opinions are fact and that the 98% of online reviews praising the Wii version of Colors are wrong. The DS version was a half-assed afterthought, and you know it.

He has a hostility towards people with opinions different from his, and as a result, he tends to attract sycophantic morons who do nothing but eat his shit up.

At least Yahtzee has the decency to admit that his opinions are just that, opinions.

If you think Jim's persona is really real, then you have a bigger issue.

I think Jim is OK. He can be a bit over the top, but he enjoys what he does.

He can improve, yes, but critique needs to be constructive if you wish for that end.

I think it's totally fine as long as you are posting it ironically or just saying that you are unsure how anyone else could have an opinion that differs from yours.

I always thought it was just satire? i think he's like that on purpose for the sake of entertainment...it can be kind of annoying at first...but once you realize that its satire...you actually start enjoying it ....but hey thats just my opinion and i could be wrong

He gives Colors a bad review, so everyone on Destructoid automatically assumes that it's bad without reading any other reviews or playing the game itself.

I don't mind Jim's persona, in fact, I like his style and many of his opinions are spot on, even if he has a tendency to be a bit... over the top.

EDIT: So, all this is for a 6 months old Sonic game that he didn't like?, well, that's just, like, his opinion on the game, that's what reviews are, opinions. If you didn't liked his review, go read somewhere else, or even better, play the game yourself and make your own opinion.

Jim certainly makes his on-line persona to be a self-centered, arrogant, egotisical asshole; however, I haven't met him outside of his Jimquisition episodes and Destructoid so I can't really judge correctly if that, indeed, is his true nature or not.

He does make good points on occasion, just not in a manner I like. Can't hate him for that, though.

It's hypocrisy, pretty much the exact definition.

I don't agree though, since Jim is always only semi-serious with his insults, he's very rarely genuinely offensive. I think when it's clear that you're adopting a persona, or parodying something, then it's OK to pretty much say and do whatever you want (see: Duke Nukem).

OT: Some of his videos are funny, and some of them aren't, but I don't really have a solid opinion on Jim himself at all. Really though that doesn't matter, because taking his persona too seriously just ends up damaging your argument and making you look a bit silly, especially since he has joked about this in one of his videos.

I think he makes good points. Granted, I've only seen him on the Jimquisition, but a majority of his videos have made good points.

That being said, I can't stand him. I know the arrogance is just a persona, but I hate that particular persona. I don't see why it's funny, though I appreciate that others do. I personally think that his videos would be a lot better without the intro/outro bits where he plays the arrogant ass. Especially on his most recent one. Through most of it, I was with him 100%. In the last 30 seconds, where he was actually on screen and brought out his annoying ass "Thank God for me!" I wanted to strangle him.

In short, he's interesting for the most part, but his arrogance ruins it for me.
