Why I Hate The Ocean and Water

I just thought I would share my reason why I hate water and the ocean.

The reason I hate the ocean is because, for millions upon millions of years, fish have shit, pissed and killed each other (and therefore bled) in it. And lets not also forget that sewage runs into the ocean and that bodies from either shipwrecks or burials at sea have rotted and decomposed in there. And the radiation from atomic tests conducted at sea has become a part of the ocean. And all the particles from the shit, piss, blood, decomposed flesh and whatnot that has accumulated in there for millions upon millions of years has spread all over the world.

So, remember what I just said next time you decide to go for a dip and think about what all you are swimming with. Yuck! O_e

Also, yes, I am somewhat OCD.

I have bad news. Airborne particles of skin, bile, blood, poop and every filthy thing imaginable right now are all over your skin and in your mouth.

The good news is that, like the ocean, this is all quite natural and harmless and the rubbish of life gets cleaned up rather neatly. So no worries, right?

Unless, you know, you don't like the fact that you have the flesh of others in your mouth right now. And every other second of your life.

Nearly every molecule of water in your body has been pissed, shat, vomited, or ejaculated by something over the long course of the history of life on this planet.

And its likely that most of your molecules will eventually be pissed, shit, vomited, or ejaculated at least once by something else over the next billion years.

Also, that bag of crisps on your desk? Theres probably a molecule of starch that contains an atom of carbon that at one point was shit out by hitler.

to add to that... if you've ever smelled a fart... yeah, that's bits of poop entering your nose and mouth.

oh right... and you are made up from the matter of dead creatures too... so uh... I probably wouldn't be so angry at the sea.

cycle of life and all that junk.

actually, if you really want to find something to hate; hate people! look at your water supply! we have medicines and chemicals in our drinking water because people flush tons of waste down. I'd be less worried about whale poop in the ocean than the pharmacy we call tap water.

All those things travel through the air just as they do the ocean, so there is not much of a difference.

That's...a really stupid and, well, incorrect to hate the ocean. You touch a lot more disgusting things on a daily basis you know. You know how many times most people clean their phones during the duration of that phone's life? Most people will say "Zero" and that phone has touched everything.

Shrug it's tiny amounts the salt in sea water will do more damage to you if you drink it most of the time.

While none of that bothers me at all, I still avoid the ocean due to the fear of the unknown, murky water, riptides, sharks, jellyfish, giant creatures, undiscovered creatures, jellyfish larvae, risk of drowning... this list goes on.

You got that right. At least in your pool you know, to an extent, what's in it. As for me, I hate being in any kind of body of water. That's why I like showers: I'm not actually in a "body" of water.

Also, I underlined "my" for you. Your welcome. :)

If it wasn't 3:14 in the morning, I would seriously consider taking a shower after reading that paragraph. O.e

No, I'm not a cannibal, thankfully. ;-)

The only worry i have in the ocean is when i can't see what's under the surface because it's either deep or covered in seaweed. i mean, have you seen some of the things that live in the ocean.

And that, gentlemen, proves the bad effects that occur to the brain by liking Dr. Pepper. :p

Yeah, I call that "JAWS" syndrome. I've watched JAWS since I was about 5 and it did two things to me: 1, make me hate water and 2 ... well, let's change the subject ... |-/

Have you also deducted that bacteria and other nasties are on LAND as well? Where do we hide, right?

SCUBA dive master here, i love the sea. I love its stingy, beautiful and slightly disconcerting inhabitants to bits. All of your reservations are silly and neurotic OP. :D

Everyone's already said it. Just take a big whiff of that air, and enjoy the thousands of skin particles.

First off, all that stuff is on land, so your still in a filthy world. Also like land the ocean has a natural way of cleaing its self, not to mention that their are millions of sea creatures that eat this stuff everyday and live... Ive swam in the ocean tons of times and come out fine every time, and evening feeling better sometimes. But I can say from my own experience in the Navy, that humans dump weird and gross things into the ocean that I find more scary than the stuff you listed.

Yeah, but trillions upon trillions of other species of life shit on the land. Then it floats about in particles and goes up your sinuses.
