Why is the Escapist so fun???

As for my opinion, The Escapist is a brilliant site for a lot of things. I initially came for the videos and an old developer's tournament, but have long since decided to stay for the forum regulars and the intelligent posters who appear on these forums. Even if I'm in lurker mode I will seriously just sit and stare at threads for ages without posting in them.

But fun as you put it is open to interpretation. People go on The Escapistfor different reasons: I go on it for the community and intelligent discussions we recieve, some users for RPs, some for videos, the sheer size of The Escapist allows for access to all this stuff, so we can come on here for pretty much anything.

Well, there is usually intelligent conversation, stupid spam posts result in bans, and there are videos if that doesn't keep you going.

Plus there is the forum games, which I have discovered that I enjoy immensely.

As for why it's awesome?
It's a place where you can be a mostly nonsensical babbler if you wish, and have people help you keep the babble going if you're in the right area. If you want to have more serious discussions, while you have to look a little harder at times, you can run across them and join in.
Sure, there are some jackasses, but they are the minority here.
I would hug you all, but too many of you have expressed a desire/plan to stab me.

Damn, and i try so hard...for nothing. Well i still am curious whose on your hitlist. Mine is fairly obvious.

I dont have a hitlist, Although it tends to find the more "popular" an escapist memember is, The more of a jerk they tend to be. Yahtzee's a good example.
