Why the furry hate?

The users on these forums are pretty good as far as racism, sexism, and any other kind of blind hate is concerned. And not just because it's against the rules, the general consensus around here is that those things are bad. And yet even here the all internet pervasive furry hate persists.

OK, yeah, I think that it's kinda weird, but we all have things that outsiders think are weird, so I don't really hold it against them.

And before things like this are brought up furrys and yiffers are NOT the same thing. Not all furrys are turned on by anthropomorphic animals, or have sex in fur suits.

So my question is, why even here of all places does the hate persist?

People are always going to have differing opinions on things. Sometimes when they come up against others who have those different opinions and they can't accept their point of view, that dislike turns into hate for no reason other than they don't understand it or choose not too. Even on the Escapist that is going to happen, it's human nature.

The fursuit thing is only thing I find weird. Otherwise I see it as a strange hobby of sorts. Some people like Cars, some like anime, some like animals that resemble people.

That's what happens to us furs. We have an awesome Forum site and then the /b/tards discover it and muck it up with their fail.

For me, it comes from trauma. There was a free online MMO type game called "Furcadia" I stumbled into many ages ago... No Resident Evil game could compare with what I saw in those weird and haunted waters... Or more like read over a chat channel.
