I don't know who he is, I just know he likes to brag about how awesome he is at games and that sites like Gametrailers seem happy to feed his already bloated ego.
So, exactly the same as every other gobby thirteen year old on the entire internet, except slightly famous then?

He's a crappy rapper and people who don't like him usually feel pretty strongly about it
I wouldn't define him as a Rapper

more like a Crunk Artist

(Look it up in urban dictionary)
because anyone who uses words from urban dictionary in his songs, or who gets described by his fans by words taken from urban dictionary is obviously mentally challanged...

Heh, yup, pretty much this.

I say the same thing about him that I say about The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and all the other popular hate figures: I'm aware of their existence, but I'm also aware that I'm not their target audience, therefore I take no notice. Complaining about them would be like complaining about tampons or something - it's not aimed at me, I'm not meant to like it, so to get wound up about it would be fantastically pointless.

Irrelevant. Crunk is still a rap sub-genre, and Soulja Boy is bad at it. Very bad. I don't care if he's rap, crunk, or country and western anyway, whatever the name is for what he does, he is bad at it. He tarnishes the entire genre. He is the lowest common denominator of whatever-the-hell-genre-that-is. Yet he is very popular with people who know no better.

That is "why the hate".

He created in my opinion THE most annoying song ever. every freakin' place i go i hear "YOUUUUUUU!" with that HORRIBLE beat to go along with it. what sickens me further about that song in particular is that i hear children that are not even 6 years old reciting the lyrics around the Ipod speakers its coming from.

i find him no different from any other current generation rapper. all you ever hear in Rap music are drugs, belitting women, killing cops, unimaginative lyrics (overuse of expletives), the list goes on.

he makes millions producing this garbage too, it's maddening! whatever happened to actually working for those millions? or actually putting effort into a song?

Because his most popular song was a single phrase peppered with such intellectual gems as "Why me crank dat Robocop?" and "Haters gettin' mad 'cause I got me some bathing apes" (I'm well aware that's a clothing brand, but the way he says it just sounds so retarded.)

Because he's single-handedly taken hip-hop, shit on it, and set it on fire to make all the ignorant pricks who know absolutely nothing about hip-hop think that's what all rap is like. Because he's coming out with a game, not as a retarded money-making scheme like his mentor 50 Cent, but because he actually thinks he knows fuck all about video games.

Well it might be because his music is some of the worst to ever grace the world.

True and also there's a lot of better rappers that get overlooked because of him
Yeah, where's the love for Mr. Lif?
or naturally 7? (i know they aren't big on rap but the small rap line heard in "wall of sound" was done very well)

Yeah...95% of this topic is filled with people who hate rap. 4% of it is people who know just enough about rap to fake it (seriously, namedropping Immortal Tech/Run DMC/Beastie Boys/Eminem/Grandmaster Flash is like saying you know good metal and your favorite band is Metallica. It's the lame-duck choice). And 1% actually knows something about rap (whoever mentioned Mr. Len and whoever said UGK).

People hate Soulja Boy for no real reason. They say "he's killing hip-hop" or "he's killing music". Bullshit. Is he censoring artists? No. Is he preventing artists from licensing their music? No. Is he the head of any major record label or media outlet? Hell no. Does he control what gets played on the radio or on the music video channels? No sir.

He's a kid who was smart (lucky?) enough to use the internet as promotion on a massive scale. There were plenty of attempts before and after, but nobody has really been able to emulate what he's done so far in terms of hit-making and impact (good or bad) in this digital age.

Does he have an ego? Yup. But I'd bet you'd have at least a small one if you became a millionaire by your 18th birthday and wrote, produced, and self-promoted the biggest hit song and dance in America.

"The worst music in the world"? Not even close.

Bang. Don't like him? IGNORE HIM.

If only more people would take that advice...

Because he sucks?
Because he thinks he's king shit, when really...he's just shit?
Because he claims to be the best gamer, when he isn't even remotely?
Because his 'music' is about as inspired as the graffiti on the wall of a bathroom stall in a Wal-Mart in Kentucky?
Because he is the poster boy for why you don't drink when you're pregnant?

Take your pick.
I'll have to pick the second.

Extremely solid point. I mean shit, I hated the Macarena but that didn't stop anything either. I listen to a lot of rap, but I tend to stay away from the mainstream so I don't have to listen to T-Pain or songs like "Kiss Me Through the Phone". But on the flip, it's pretty fucking hard to ignore someone who is everywhere like this kid is. Sure, he's lucky to be a millionaire, I'm still going to continue to mock him though. No force in the world could stop that.

I hate'm for the same reason I hate all Rap and Hip-Hop nowadays, because its the same stupid bepping and booping beats that would shame a scifi original film soundtrack and the "singers" going on about how hes a self absorbed fuck who then trys to make claim to a gangster lifestyle and trys to sell it of as being a high point in society as opposed to a murderous club who is one short of a Jim Jones or a David Koresh or Charles Manson of being a psuedo religion. He is like most Rappers nowadays a pretender to the genre and every one of them is just chasing the shadow of Biggy and Tupac and all the other great rappers of their time and completely bastardized Rap from being like a modern day muse telling a chaotic story of their lives and experiences to a shameless repetitve dance floor reject tracks.

His music is certifiably bad.

He is arrogant.

He cannot speak English.

His name is not even original.

And the hate is piled on him because he is everything that is flawed with today's music and the younger generation personified.
