theres always that One boss in every game. One boss that won't fucking die. You know that boss, right? The boss that if you could see it's health bar the screen would be blocked by it.For me it's the first "boss" in KH2 on proud mode.the giant nobody that's never mentioned again. In proud mode that thing takes forever to kill and all they give you as a weapon is a keyblade thats actually a Blunt weapon for the most part.

Pyro in X-men 2: Wolverines Revenge for Gameboy Advance. Tough mother fuckaaah. Then again the whole game was pretty damn difficult.

Uh, discussion value?

Bah, I'll just assume you asked "which boss gave you the most trouble?"

In which case, I'll go with the boss on the train in Uncharted 2. Despite having minimal armor, he somehow managed to survive about 30 shots to the face with an AK47. As well as several grenades dropped at his feet.

I'm having some difficulty with the final two bosses in the Via Infinito (Paragon and Trema) in FFX-2, though admittedly they aren't so much a case of "why won't you die" as "why can't I have time to get a single hit in?", thanks to the miracle that is the Catnip accessory. They literally pull out insta-kill attacks right at the start of the battle, every time, and despite having everyone leveled to almost Level 80, with Trigger Happy Lv.3, it makes zero difference. Otherwise, pretty much every boss in the first .hack// game was like that, taking massive amounts of hits to kill. In fact, fighting the bosses for so long was the entire reason I gave up on that franchise, which was otherwise good apart from the aforementioned bosses...

And yes, I am telling this FFX-2 story here in the hopes that someone can give me a good way to win those two fights, by the way... (hint hint)

The final boss in Deadly Premonition. Had to FAQ the final part to figure out what the hell I was supposed to do. and then it was mostly luck.

Edit: Final boss in Persona 3 took forever with his billion different forms. Also getting insta killed by that guy sucked so much.

Ah, I think I see your problem.

Your problem is you're playing FFX-2.

The hardiest boss ever? All of the bosses in No More Heroes had far too much health. Now I know they were the whole point of the game and all but in normal there wasn't a boss amongst them that hadn't worn out their welcome by the time you were done.

The last boss in particular took a fucking age. And about half way into the battle he starts whipping out the insta kill attacks.

(sonic adventure 2 battle) BIO-LIZARD it saddens me to say that I used an action replay after months of not being able to defeat him, it was the stage where he chucks out lots of sphere things and you have to jump on them.

Gideon Graves in SPVSTW:TG, most appropriately

I only seem to be able to "almost" kill him

Not really a boss but in just cause 2 when you have to kill this merc leader guy, he is just standing there is a damn field talking. I shoot him directly with a fully upgraded rocket launcher and he goes flying, then gets up. I shoot him again, and again. In the end you gotta put about 4-5 rockets into him before he dies which is more than any vehicle in the game, only he is just a guy.

Elizabeth. Greene. Blargh. She wasn't even that hard, just long. And yes, I know there's an obvious joke there. Don't say it.
You know what... Oh... You said don't say it... Either way I agree, what an annoying boss.

OT: Something like the Earth Tyrant on FF XII, I stumbled upon him way to early, and thought I needed to fight him, I was about 15 levels underpowered, and was getting thoroughly demolished, I managed it though, to find some thing I should have gotten later...

Oh yeah, and the first few bosses from Lost Oddesy, sunnova ***** they were not fun...
And maybe Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts... His health bar actually went to far, so they had to add in a shit load of invisible ones that you could not see...

Gears of War when you get a bugged General Raam, ie. ************ is invincible. And sometimes he seems to be perma-bugged until you reset the console and play the level again. I once spent half an hour running around that last train carriage, dodging krill and his minigun, eventually running out of ammo and trying to chainsaw him. Yeah, it didn't work.

For a non-bugged boss, some of the special/danger boss-killing quests in The Last Remnant are so far beyond my ability I can't see them.
There was one called The Fallen who uses a special ultra attack at the end of every round (this attack will typically kill off most of your people or horrifically damage them), he also gets to attack back at up to 3 unions who attack him (often doing area effect stuff that hurt all your people, not just the attackers), and, as if that wasn't enough, you only get 10 rounds to beat him in. After that he casts Armageddon, which does the obvious. I managed to beat this guy after getting very lucky and being just powerful enough.
But he isn't who I'm talking about. There's super-hard versions of some bosses in this game and The Fallen has a counterpart called The Lost. This bastard has twice the hitpoints (690,000), more powerful attacks, and has to be taken down in 5 rounds. I'm just not going to even bother.

The face of my enemy:

I think I did a little leap of joy when I eventually managed to defeat him.

The ending boss is much worse. I shot him so many times, you think he'd just be a walking pile of bullets with some fleshy bits hanging out...

The final boss from inFamous. He wasn't a difficult boss, he just had such a ridiculously long health bar that you could almost grow a beard in the amount of time it took to drop that bastard.
