It's to easy. It is like they made it for people with life's.... Who is going to play a mmo like 10 hours a week. When i stated to play mmo's ( when FFXI came out ) it was all about hard core gaming. That makes sense too, because it really is like living two life's. Then real one where you hang with friends and then the Online one where you play with friends from abroad that you probably will never meat. The only reason the online ones like you is because you play the game. I mean if you didn't you wouldn't even know them. I miss Hard games so I am going back to FFXI. Even though it has changed a little from what I have herd.

WoW is defiantly not the only game that is easy now day's. I only bring that one up because it is the game I have spent the most on, and now its for 10 year old kids. I quit WoW because I have seen EVERY THING in just the first month, that is BS for a mmo.

All the games now day it seem's they are for the people that suck at them. I want a HARD GAME, or a game with a lot of content. One that I cant beat in one sitting when I first get it. The only game that seem's like its meant are ones made by Bathesda, ( Oblivion, and Fallout 3 )Bioware ( If you don't know these ones, just go die ) Valve ( " " )and some 3rd party people. It is kinda sad to say thing but I liked Two Worlds, because of its EPICness.

I just want a game With a good story, a swell amount of content, with fun game play. Thats it. It seem's like most games made now days just pick one the three things I want.

TIS VERY LONG POST. MAHBAD.

BOOHOO they made MMO games that aren't designed to be played by lifeless lamers who only play games and don't hold jobs or have stable marriages. WAAA!

My wife holds down a full-time job, cooks the food around here, takes care of two pet rats, goes out with her husband and her friends, and still has time on the weekends to do endgame instances with her high-level Blood Elf paladin. You know why she can do this? Because WoW doesn't want people catassing, that's why. It wouldn't have a playerbase in the millions if it were only for nerds with no social life, now, would it?

Ah, I remember when my MMORPG burnout set in. There I was, happily hacking and slashing away at snakes in front of Qeynos or Freeport on the upteenth alternate character, when something slowly sunk in and at last I said, "What the hell am I doing? There's no challenge to this at all - it's all about time invested. The player is hardly even necessary! I'm not playing this game, this game is playing me!"

I tried to rekindle my interest with other MMORPGs, but good rarely ever came of it. Nearly every MMORPG sucks for the same reason: the developers saw EverQuest's grind was working to fish in subscribers, so they built the grind first and worried about the gameplay later. The result was a game that sucked even more than EverQuest.

There have been some exceptions. City of Heroes was one of the first, with auto-attack phased out and several gameplay aspects introduced - that was fun. Guild Wars, not really a MMOG, did a pretty good job of it too. Most recently, Age of Conan and Warhammer Online made a pretty good showing too, each possessing some aspects that were actually pretty close to a game I could play rather than the other way around. You mentioned Final Fantasy XI, I agree, that's a game that actually has a bit of meat to it thanks in part to aspects such as elemental considerations and Renkai but also because the overall balance is a bit more challenging.

However, World of Warcraft is just pure, streamlined EverQuest with a bit of Blizzard game refinement charm on top. I'm hardly surprised burnout is sinking in for you much as it has for me years ago with EverQuest. WoW always was, and remains, the McDonalds of MMORPGs: millions served, but it's hardly fine dining for the gourmets among us.

no but it wasn't made for the people with pack life's at the start. It seemed to get in the millions area before it was turned in to a game for the people that only play games about as much as they wash their car.

Just because a game doesn't scale to your skill of play doesn't mean it sucks. And while I understand that the point may have been to establish that WoW is too easy of a game for you, I suggest you rename the thread before some defensive trolls come to feed.

And also, eleven million subscribers willing to pay $160 a year for this disagree with you.

The original post is so ridiculous that I keep thinking it's trolling?

I honestly don't get why people would want an MMO to be that much of a time-sink. I mean, WoW is bad enough, but you want a game that takes up 'every' waking hour? Anyway, there's plenty of very long, very difficult, very grind oriented MMO's out there, so I don't see the point in complaining about just one.

As for EvE... Yeah, it's complex, definitely. But it's mostly a PvP game, so saying it's a 'hard' MMO makes no sense. The difficulty is pretty much entirely dependent on the skills, numbers and knowledge of the other players (or how many friends you have online to come help you). EvE is designed as a completely different game besides.

EVE Online is about as hard as doing your parents' taxes, with many of the same tools and functions involved.

But I kid. The main trouble with MMORPGs and difficulty is that the developers often create them to be hands-off in order to eliminate the bandwidth requirements involved in more interactive games. Consequently, if you want a genuinely hard game, chances are you're better off trying ones that don't have such a tremendous online overhead. They are getting a bit better as technology improves, but they're not quite there yet.
