So I was at my local game stop the other day making all my pre orders the the avalanche of games that are coming to this fall and the salesman was trying to up sell me on MW3 Elite. I'm not the most up to date on games and this was the first I had ever really heard about it, and after a lengthy discussion I decided that if I get the DLC for free I might as well get this little package. After leaving I couldn't help but feel a little ripped off, not only buying the game which SHOULD be damned good for $60 in todays day, but also realizing that I'm buying this on the developers word that there will be enough DLC to justify the purchase. But even if that is the case I can't help but realize that...
1. This game will most likely be obsolete in a year or two for the next "Call of Duty: Cookie Cutter + Zombies/Spec Ops + New Guns" rendering the whole subscription moot
and
2. A lot of the "exciting features" they have advertised such as the stat trackers have all been included in previous titles so why pay for them now? The descriptions they have available are all so vague and sound like things that should be available in most games anyway.
3. Haven't heard anything about the nice Emblem creator from black ops, I think I spent more time making my emblems then I did playing the game sometimes.
If I have the wrong idea here please do explain to me otherwise. Really I'm more hoping that they use this money to utilize a dedicated dev team to consistently make the game better, IE adding extra special ops missions, map packs, or even game types and fun weekend treats: double xp, special tournaments or playlists with special rules.
or I could just say fuck it, and just stick to Battlefield 3.
