Will there ever be a new Hulk movie?

Hulk as of now is my absolute favorite hero of Marvel Comics. And so far I am sad he only appears in Avengers movies.

(Also no offense but I don't like Mark Ruffolo as Hulk in his Bruce Banner incarnation. He just does not look like a skinny feeble guy that all of a sudden becomes a giant musclular strong man)

Anyway I still wonder if a Hulk solo movie will ever happen I mean if its the fact that Hulk is still under Universal if Spiderman is going as far as getting his own movie under the Marvel Studios banner why not Hulk? (Sony still has some control over Spiderman movies right?)

Probably not. Remember that we've had two attempts already, and both where critically and financially "meh" at best. As it stands Hulk seems to have cemented himself as a supporting character. He plays best when he's playing off others instead of on his own, which is why the next movie he's slatted for is Thor 3.

Do we even need solo movies anymore? I think pairing movies are where it should be. Id love a Daredevil/Spider-Man movie.

Eventually, sure, they keep tossing hero movies at us, they'll get back to him sooner or later.

I imagine if Marvel really wanted to get it done they could, but after two disappointing solo efforts, I think they've come to the conclusion that in movies he works best in smaller doses. After all, why go through all of that headache to make a solo movie where you have to share any revenue when you can partner him up with Thor and keep it all? I could see Universal renegotiating their deal down the road for a smaller cut (big cut of nothing is still nothing) or selling back the rights altogether, and then it would be a different conversation.
I personally found Ruffalo to be the best Bruce Banner so far, he is the only one that was able to convince me that there was always that anger simmering within. And he's the only one to look like a regular schmoe and a scientist, rather than a model. He's actually pretty much the same weight but shorter (5'8", 176lbs) as Bana (6'2", 176) or Norton (6'0", 180), but he doesn't have the skinny Hollywood face. But hey, to each their own. What we all really love anyways is the big green monster.

After two so-so attempts, I think Marvel's done trying to sell Hulk solo. At least until they recast the character.

Last time I've check, Hulk will appear in Thor 3 movie. Not sure if it's cameo only or some kind of a minor role.

OT- I doubt it. If I remember those phases that Marvel got plan, there is won't be another Hulk movie before or after the Infinity Gaunlet movies. Maybe he will have one after they reboot it all?

Hulk is a major part of Ragnorok. His role, while different, is supposed to be at least as big as Iron Man's in Civil War. And we don't know yet what is coming down the pipe after Phase 3 is over, nothing has been announced. The one thing Marvel Studios has said is that they are not doing reboots. They may replace actors, or have different characters take on a persona, such as Sam or Bucky becoming Cap or someone else wearing the Iron Man armor, but that everything is going to be one continuity.

Thinking about it, if they wanted they could bring in She-Hulk, cause that would require Banner/Hulk as a main supporting character, and Id not be against having She-Hulk around. Movie, Netflix show, either would be good. Should add a reference to her pre-Hulk atleast in the shows, since theres a lot of lawyering in them.

Here's the reason why we won't be getting another solo Hulk movie anytime soon:

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Big-Reason-We-re-Getting-Solo-Hulk-Movie-Anytime-Soon-70863.html

To summarize: Marvel is currently sharing the movie rights to the Hulk with Universal. So while the Hulk can continue to appear in other Marvel characters' movies, he won't be headlining his own feature unless Marvel and Universal can come to an agreement.

Everyone knows this. The topic creator brings it up in the original post.

The real question is if Universal is going to do "one of those movies" to keep the Hulk rights. But then again, their last attempt at aping Marvel success didn't work out too well (and I still snicker at the 'Universal Monsters CU').

The Hulk deal is actually different than the X-Men/Fant4stic deal with Fox, or the old Sony Spidey deal. Both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were created before Disney bought Marvel Studios, and Marvel, as a fledgling studio, was not in a position to distribute their films. They worked out distribution deals with Paramount (Iron Man) and Universal (Hulk) that shared profits and gave those companies the distribution rights for any sequels with those characters. While Disney was able to work out a deal with Paramount after Iron Man 2 to get his distribution rights back, they've not done the same with Universal. (Whether that be because they haven't really been interested in doing so, or Universal isn't willing to give it up, is unknown.) As it stands, so long as the MCU exists any Hulk standalone films will be distributed by Universal and they will get their agreed-upon cut of the profits, but they don't have the ability to actually create a Hulk film of their own. I hope I was able to make that a little clearer for people.

I imagine they don't want to. People didn't like the Hulk film we got in the MCU (I thought it was OK but oh well) and the Hulk doesn't seem to matter in the grand scheme of this story they're going for in the MCU. Even as part of the Avengers he's an emergency weapon and unnecessary science assistant to Tony Stark.

It's a waste of a character, but what can you do.

I disagree, I find him to be one of the best parts of the Avengers movies. But I think he works best in the shared movies rather than trying to carry his own film. The issue, I find, is that in his solo movies is that he spends 2/3 of the time as Banner and nobody cared about him, they just wanted to see him turn into the Hulk and start wrecking shit.

I find him quite entertaining[footnote]Except for the Hulkbuster fight weirdly enough[/footnote], I just think he's a bit redundant as a character anyway.

I think they need a solo Hulk, but finally do him right. Let him talk. Give him a good plot, like the run where the Master is trying to make an army of Hulks to rule the world, and, for goodness sakes, have a decent Abomination, not the super soldier gone rogue like the last one. He is my favorite Marvel character. For some reason there are a few characters Hollywood just can't get right (I'm looking at you Victor Von Doom).

They've done quite a bit of development with the Hulk himself. We're starting to see him have feelings and develop a personality, thoughts of his own as Banner and Hulk become more of the same person. If the rumors about him playing a major role in Ragnarock are true it's possible they're setting up for a Planet Hulk story.
