Hey guys, I know this isn't a tech forum, but I know you guys have computers out there and maybe some of you have run into a similar problem.
I'm pretty good getting around a PC, and a couple days ago I saw she had a couple windows updates that weren't done, so I tried to install them.
4 out of the 8 failed, but it still wanted a reboot for the ones that were completed
It restarted, and now it's stuck in an infinite loop trying to "Optimize Update 3 of 3 - 0%". It's saying this, then restarting, then repeating over and over!!
I've tried safe mode, restoring to last known good config, startup repair didn't do a damn thing. I don't have a recovery cd as it came with a recovery partition =/
It feels like the only option I have right now is to run recovery manager and make a backup (which i hope to god won't corrupt)
I just wanna know if anyone's gone through this and if they perhaps have a solution before I do this last desperate step?
She's got a HP Pavilion dv5, running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
