Hey all. I apologise for the lack of potential discussion but, I can haz help?

My laptop uses Windows 7 and I browse the interwebs using Firefox. Lately for some reason, Firefox will stop responding and doesn't seem to start responding again. Trying to do something like search for a program in the start menu at this point often makes Windows itself stop responding.

Thoughts?

LE EDIT GRANDE: I'm now using Chrome and oh my good fucking lord, is it fast.

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, or also,, try disabling all the plugins/add ons from firefox

Scanning for spyware could also help as well

Sorry I have to go with "Use Chrome" as well.

But that's mostly because I've never used Firefox, and I love Chrome.

Well.

This is something I do regardless to the problem, as long as it's windows related.

Reformat.

I keep using Firefox and I don't know why. It feels very clunky and hangs far too much.

So yeah, use Chrome.

Whenever I have a problem that even slightly relates to windows. I reformat.

In fact I'm due for a reformatting. It generally speeds up my computer anyways.

I have a second hard drive, so it doesn't really bug me when reformatting :D

Do it.

It pretty much always works.

I just might. So Chrome has good functionality, yes?
I think so - It does everything I want it to, which is browse the internet really quickly. I dunno what shiny extras you can put onto Firefox and what equivalents yo can get out of Chrome, but it's cool.

And clutter-free. Oh it's lovely in that respect, 95% of what you're seeing is the actual webpage and not useless bars and stuff crowding it.

Ehh who knows though - yeah try it out and see what you think :)

I love it! It's ridiculously fast compared to FF.

And the Omni-box is so useful! Instead of going all the way to Google, just search in the URL bar. It really is convenient.
