So, I've got in an argument with my friends earlier, I use 7, so I think, that's the best, but they say XP is better... Some even like Vista over the others, lol.

What do you think? Think of any arguments, regarding, which one is best!

I use 7 and I like it over XP. (Not that XP is bad though. It's fine; I just like 7 a lot more.)

And regardless of opinion, when Microsoft eventually stops supporting XP with updates, 7 will be the better choice between the two. For now though, if you like XP have fun with that.

XP Paint is the best, and it's simpler. Everything else is better in 7.

Windows 7 all the way. Not perfect but it's a great improvement over Vista and XP. XP was good for its time, but Windows 7 is best for present day.

In all honesty, when I upgraded from vista to 7, I absolutely hated 7. It pissed me off at every turn (and still is). I try to transfer files to another folder "I R SORRY, U NEEZ ADMIN PREMISON LUL" even though, my account is the only account on the computer and therefore, by default, the admin account. While, I don't think Vista was better, I prefer it over 7. :\

What is wrong with vista anyways? Lots of people seem to hate it for a reason that was unexplained to me. It always did what I asked it, and I liked it for that (unlike fucking 7) *kicks computer*

7 is best, but the Movie Maker on XP is way, way better.

I currently run Vista, which I don't find too bad (despite the rap it gets). But of what I've used of 7, I think 7 is the best.

Really all you need to do is change a few simple settings to get rid of that stuff, and I'm fairly sure that those same permission things where in vista. The difference is, vista is a poorly coded piece of shit, it was constantly chewing up memory most of the time with unwanted unused crap.

Don't really care. As long as I have a fully functioning computer with virus protection, I am very happy.
This although I'm not enjoying having vista on my laptop.

I loved both XP and 7. Or, I should say that I love 7, since I'm currently using it. I miss a few features about XP, but for the most part the improvements outweigh anything missing.

I cannot stand Vista. My spouse has a Vista laptop (and a 7 laptop - we own four laptops between us) that I occasionally am forced to use, and it's absolutely awful. That thing collects viruses like no-one's business.

The overwhelming majority of the people championing XP and Vista are working off of the THEY CHANGED IT NOW IT SUCKS principle. People complaining about, for instance UAC (all of the annoying "are you sure" questions), are complaining about something that's incredibly easy to turn off and is actually probably a good thing for the majority of naive PC users to have.

As for the actual issues, XP is simply outdated and missing a lot of nice modern features and Vista is both outdated AND objectively bad - it runs badly, it uses resources badly, and most of its features feel pretty cobbled-together with very little uniformity of design. Many of the designers of 7 have actually come out and said that 7 is what they meant Vista to be.

Also, if you think you have an admin account because it's the only account on the computer, you're probably wrong. There's a hidden admin account (try booting into safe mode and you can usually see it). The only way to know whether you're an admin account is to look at the profile and see if it's an admin account.

A lot of the complaining about permission handling seems to be centred around the notion that the system would be better if there just weren't any serious permission restrictions. If you think that hating permissions makes you look like a hardcore power-user (if you wish you could just give your account uniform access to everything without any questions), you are hilariously wrong.

Windows 7 is definitely an improvement to xp, but I guess I've just gotten used to the feel of using xp and haven't made the switch yet.

I will have to eventually though (eventually they will stop making games that run on the Windows xp OS), and I'm glad that Windows 7 came out since Vista is a buggy piece of crap.

well for me and most of the people i know it was because it was released early and un polished, the requirements to run it were understated, and most of the update lead to failure of third party drivers my laptop that had vista would regularly lose the sound card driver and everynow and then lose the dvd/cd drivers
