Right, I got WipEout HD on the weekend past and I was blown away by it.
The graphics are some of the best I've seen. EVER.
The controls are easily picked up.
And most importantly it's mind meltingly fast.

Probably one of my favourite games ever, next to Shadow of the Colossus

What's your verdict???

Wipeout is one of the few racing games I enjoy, and yes, they are mind numbingly fast and ridiculous at times but it's still hell fun. I have the 2 wipeout games for the PSP and they are AWESOME, the only thing that would make wipeout the perfect racing game in my eyes is if they had some of that vehicle customization you find in GT, NFS and other "realistic" racers. I heard wipeout HD has some tracks from wipeout pulse (PSP) in it...wonder which ones they chose.

Still bar none one of the best racing games ever made, taking the crazy speed of F-Zero, giving you some cool power ups like mario kart did, and having the sweet futuristic setting like F-Zero and pod racer. Futuristic/ unrealistic racers are the only racers i will touch, as they are the funnest.

It hasI have Pulse aswell. And it has Moa Therma so I'm sorted. Love that track.

WipEout has always been my preferred choice in racing games while I was growing up.

Pulse is definitely one of the best racing games I have ever played, and for a hand held, it looks plain kick ass. Wipeouts also a game with some of the best sound tracks ever, their music is so good. The only wipeout i will never touch is wipeout 64...god what a piece of crap that turned out to be. Now if only I had a ps3...WHD wold be added to my collection so fast.

I'm not a big racing fan, but i love Wipeout. HD doesn't add much new content. I think it's just a mix of Pure and Pulse, but with the graphics turned up to 11. Wipeout also does something imposible to me; I hate techno and dance music, yet I think Wipeout HD has an amazing soundtrack. How does it do that?!

I listen to Power Metal, Thrash, Heavy Metal and so on.
It was WipEout that broadened my horizons, now I have started listening to House and Minimal.
Thank the God's for WipEout ehh? :)

Because somehow the music just fits the futuristic style and break neck speeds of the game. I'm not a big techno/trance fan myself but it just works. With pulse I have the option to upload 30 of my own tracks to it garners extra points for that. WHY HAVEN'T MORE RACING GAMES ALLOWED YOU TO UPLOAD YOUR OWN SOUNDTRACKS!? thats one of the best idea's ever.

I liked the Wipeouts for the PS1...they were fun.

Love Wipeout to pieces. One of the most challenging but consistently rewarding game series I have ever played. The combination of insanely well designed visuals, perfectly tracked music and hyper responsive controls just compels me to keep playing it until I surmount whatever wall I hit in difficulty. I seldom feel cheated when I fail which to me seems like the hallmark of good design(much like the Ninja Gaiden series).

Just brought the PSP...
How does the controls respond in this game? I hear a lot of good things about this game while also reading that it's not as good as the console version.

I have neither the console or the portable versions.

well pulse is pretty damn good. Of coarse it's not going to "be as good as the console version" because it's a hand held. The controls are very good and really responsive, it's bar none the best racing game on the PSP. The added bonus of making your own race grids, online play, some DLC, and being able to upload 30 of your own songs just makes it a killer deal. If you like racing games, or wipeout it worth the 20-30 dollar price tag.
