Neat. I can't wait for the next X-Men group movie called "Charles' Team of Mutants" but honestly I'm more of a DC guy so I'm more excited for "Diana" and "Bruce" and "Clark 2."
Hopefully DC grows some balls and releases "Dick", a movie about a masked acrobat who fights crime.

What about "John or maybe Kyle, but definitely not Guy?"

Isn't X-23 already in a xmen movie? They had a fight in the room where logan got adamantium grafted on to his bones and she died by being stabbed with one of the injectors and filled her with adamantium ... that's not a spoiler, Logan basically can't die, so how could he lose?

That's meant to be Lady Deathstrike. Who in the Fox movies is a cyborg ex-lover of Wolverines. Just another feral clawed mutant like Wolverine and Sabertooth.

Two things I note from that picture. He has a cut on his arm, possibly implying his healing factor is experiencing technical difficulties and secondly, his claws are adamantium again, despite that they were bone last time we saw him IIRC. Did we see them in Apocalypse? Chronologically it went The Wolverine -> DoFP -> Apocalypse...so did his role in DoFP change history and he had his adamantium back again/The Wolverine technically didn't happen in the new continuity?

That's a great observation. I wonder, if they are, how they're going to kill him off.

That's always been something that bugged me. I really liked The Wolverine, I felt it did its job (make a movie about Wolverine stabbing shit) pretty much perfectly. It had a nice self-contained plot and cast, and it didn't overburden itself with references to other X-Men elements like Origins did.

But...after Days of Future Past, did any of it happen? Because Cyclops, Jean and Xavier are both still alive after DoFP, which means X-Men 3 didn't happen, which means Wolverine is still with the X-Men and not in a cave somewhere talking to bears. And obviously, he's got his adamantium claws back as of Logan, which means either a) The Wolverine didn't happen, b) it did happen, but he never got his claws cut off by the Silver Samurai, or c) that Magneto decided to be a good guy again and used some of the Silver Samurai's leftover adamantium to give Wolverine his claws back.

I'd be real upset if it was A, and even B is kind of a cop-out, and I don't see how C would ever happen unless Magneto did a full heel-face turn after X-Men 2. Maybe it'll be explained in the film. "Thank God we invented the, you know, whatever machine."

I liked The Wolverine too, but I don't think it was close to perfect. The biggest mistake IMO was forcing it into a PG13. Seeing people stabbed and sliced by "razor sharp" claws with no blood or reaction? It broke immersion and my ability to suspend disbelief. The thing I *did* really like about it, and it's something that could only be done *because* we've had so many chances to see Wolverine on-screen, is that they explored a different side of him. We've seen the focus on his bestial side, on his human side and on his mutant side, but this one was on his Soldier side, so different from the animal.

On the subject of continuity, on the basis that DoFP happened, Apocalypse came after but only by ten years or so. Chronologically speaking then, the original trilogy hasn't happened *yet* and therefore neither has The Wolverine. I'm not positive, but if we were to list the XMen movie timeline, assuming they share continuity, it would go: First Class - DoFP - Origins: Wolverine - Apocalypse, XMen - X2 - X3 - The Wolverine. I wonder when Logan will be set.
