When working with my dad the other day it wasn't too busy so I was texting and I realised I had 1 or 2 ex's nmbers still in there and I started to realise how similar they were and that a lot of the people I either like or find attractive were also similar.

So I just wondered that do I have a type that I like or is it just a coincidence?

I guess it depends on the person. You might have a type, but every girl I've been out with seems to have been really different to the last, as far as I remember. Maybe I'm subconsciously avoiding having a type?

inconclusive, 2 is a weak sample size.

Come back with 200 exes and we might able to tell you.

Everyone's different. You'll need more than 2 data points to draw any meaningful conclusions. That's right, I just used science to encourage you to date around. You're welcome.

Be worried if they all have something in common with your mother.

OT: I'd imagine most people have a type to some extent.

People will generally tend to select their partners based on a series of factors, based on appearance, personality, interests, etc. These factors will tend to cross and mix the more parters the person has.

In general if you notice that x ammount of partners posess x characteristics, then yeah, you probably have a 'type' - and you'll tend to prefer people who match closely to that 'type'.

This doesn't mean that there aren't exceptions - like, say, the majority of the people you dated were blonde. Doesn't mean you dislike brunettes. You could date a brunette or a redhead, provided they connected with you in another way.

But for the most part, you prefer blondes, Because your past expoeriences have given you an idea of what to expect with blondes, and most of the ones you meet/date fit the mental image you have of them.

TL:DR - Yes, everyone has a type. Eberyone ahs several types. You just need to sort out which factors are important to you.

... man i think i wondered off topic. Should really stop using internet when drunk

This makes sense.

There probably were factors that made/make you like this kind of person, but maybe it's also looking at only the similarities--much like how horoscopes can apply to basically anyone.

Also, if you're finding them attractive it could be a type of look that you like, such as them all having something similar (ex: eye color/shape, hair, height, weight, type of clothes, ect.)

As my best friend said so eloquently last night: "Of course Joe goes for a type, they've got to be female, breathing and have 2 legs."

My immediate response was "What's wrong with amputees?"

I can't really say much though, I can't remember the last time we played the Would game and I actually said wouldn't.

Im pretty sure, your brain takes in things about everyone you meet, and kinda makes you look for that same person, atleast in relationship. Most of the girls ive dated have the same facial structure, similar in height, and weight. Outward things, hair colour, eye colour, things like that change between them, but some things are extremely similar.

As far as my type goes, appearance isn't really anything important. Sometimes I'm dating a girl that dyes her hair black to look cool which I try talking her out of, other times it's a ginger with glasses and a ponytail. As far as personality, I like mature, intelligent women. This generally makes me aim at older girls at my current age since I don't really find the "Omg, like totally, we should, like, get together and, like, go shopping, like seriously!" way of speech as mature. Nor do I like the idea of "Do what she wants." I think a relationship should be evenly shared.

A little off topic but yeah. It may be just a coincidence, it might you have a type, but if you're not even eight-teen yet, it's too early to tell. You can change your interests and likings over time when you're young, I have.
