Let's all ditch that boring and overrated Y chromosome, and give the people some girl power rock music!

Here's some great music (Shoegaze, Metal, Rock, Grunge, Riot Grrrl).

(The Band of Skulls come from my home city as well, so I support them. I even know someone who knows the dummer.)

I apologize for you're precious bandwidth.

Captcha: Got my Mojo (Hehe, kinda fits, especially after hearing all of these)

Well dammit, I was gonna post some Kittie, but it appears I don't need to.

a few years ago I stoped and realised that predominantly I mostly liked male singers..

WHY was that? now I think its not about the apeal of female vocals, but more the subject matter and type of music...like taylor swift or pop stuff I cant stand

Ive gotten more female stuff on my playlists

like it or not that chick has some serious vocal range

For metal, two ends of the spectrum that are both really good. If you like complex, melodic type stuff I'd recommend checking out Epica or some of the earlier Nightwish albums. If you're more into the heavier end of things, I'd recommend Arch Enemy or The Agonist.

First thing that popped into my mind. Heart kicks a ton of ass. Also, how about an all-girl heavy metal band that has a strong relationship with Motorhead? Ladies and gents, I give you Girlschool:

Also, Joan Jett. Nothing more to say here. Just Joan Jett.

Nah, there are even all female bands out there that were even more rawer, and heavier than most male fronted bands, like the Riot Grrrl scene for example. God I swear those girls in the scene were in a fixed state of PMT. If I was in early 90's America, then I would be joining in their feminist antics along with them, and I'm a bloke.

No Lacuna Coil yet? Alright then...
My favourite song.
A pretty great cover of REM's "Losing My Religion".

Also, what he said.

I don't know what rwak is, but I'm pretty sure it's unhealthy and any woman experiencing rwak should go see a doctor. >.>

Probably the wrong genre... but:

Beki Bondage in Vice Squad
Poly Styrene in X-Ray Spex
The Slits (All female)
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Bow Wow Wow

Now these ladies were the shit... they had the raw power and the right attitude! :p

Punk is welcome here.

Some great choices there, it's a shame that strong female music is very rare nowadays, that's why I cling on to new bands like Warpaint which give me a tiny shed of hope that there are a few girls around who still know how to rock.
