Y'know how Superman has a last ditch, all or nothing, final super move in the form of the Solar Flare? Does Wonder Woman have something like that?
I ain't saying she doesn't. It's just that Superman is one of the most overpowered characters ever, and higher-level DC villains are around his level. You never know when you'll need a final trump card, so I figured they would've written one for Wonder Woman.King Billi said:Wonder Woman has no need of one, she knows how to handle her business.
Wait, in the New 52 she was the God of War? And they went the route of the bracers being a handicap on her power? That seems...odd.Bob_McMillan said:Hmmm, interesting question.
In the New 52, I think she could call upon the powers of being the God of War.
I think at one point in time she could remove her bracers and that would unlock her full potential or something.
Y'know, funnily enough, the reason why I asked this question is because of a theoretical fighting game. Specifically, one done in the anime-like style in the vein of Guilty Gear or Blazblue.Samtemdo8 said:Unless your a fighting game most Superheroes don't have Shounen Jump esque "Attack/Power Moves" like Kamahameha or Gomu Gomu Rocket Punch.
But if you are a fighting game here they are:
Not sure about the bracer thing. But yeah, she was made to be the God of War in the early New 52. It was actually pretty cool.Happyninja42 said:Wait, in the New 52 she was the God of War? In the New 52, one of Ares' powers was raising soldiers from the dead. There were Greeks, Romans, Red Coats, Confederates, WWII Marines, modern troops, etc. Wonder Woman's super, if using her New 52 origins, could be unleashing her godhood, transforming into the pic below, and then summon increasingly powerful troops. Imagine a volley of arrows, then cavalry attacks, then a WWII firing it's main cannon, then an airstrike finished by her doing that ground crush thing she is so fond of in Injustice.DarklordKyo said:Y'know, funnily enough, the reason why I asked this question is because of a theoretical fighting game. Specifically, I'm asking about a possible Instant Kill, something like Sol's Branding Breach here (or any of the other Instant Kills shown for that matter):
As a placeholder, currently my idea would be a combination between both her Super Moves from both Injustice games (albeit, the first one's being altered so that she doesn't call upon the other Amazons).
His flare is supposed to be equivalent to a nuke, but without the nasty side effects of radiation. But when that same iteration of the character can bench press the earth, well...altnameJag said:(Incidentally, I can be the only one who thinks Superman's "solar flare" move makes him less powerful, can I? Even post-crisis, the guy can move around planetoids, so a move that leaves him near powerless for any period of time is a move you never assign a button to, let alone have on your hotbar.)
Never read the comics, but have watched a few videos from Comicstorian and the like. I think in New 52 Aries is confirmed to be her father. And he dies in a story so she takes over as God of War. And her bracelets restricts her full power. Not sure if there is a limit or reason she wouldn't take them off full time, but that seems to be her desperation move. Her Limit Break as it were.Happyninja42 said:Wait, in the New 52 she was the God of War? And they went the route of the bracers being a handicap on her power? Ahh, so it's equal to or less powerful then his heat vision, while being less controllable, having more collateral damage, and leaving him more vulnerable to everything. What brain-trust thought that up?Bob_McMillan said:His flare is supposed to be equivalent to a nuke, but without the nasty side effects of radiation. Fair enough, but just "kill the dude" isn't really what I'm looking for. It's more like "kill the dude with the concentrated power of a nuke, kill him so hard that his atoms are atomized."altnameJag said:It's the DC universe, right? As one of the few heros where "killing the other guy" is explicitly on the table, she's already got a "super move".
Whether it's neck-snapping or just, like, stabbing a dude in the chest, that'll end 99% of the fights she'd get into. Just stab a dude. In the chest.

I think they brought it in to lead into his death or something.altnameJag said:Ahh, so it's equal to or less powerful then his heat vision, while being less controllable, having more collateral damage, and leaving him more vulnerable to everything. I mean, I like Supes being vulnerable to stuff, my favorite iteration being the old DCAU cartoons, but this is a silly way to get there.
No, Zeus is her father, but Ares practically raised her in order to have her replace him.Saltyk said:Never read the comics, but have watched a few videos from Comicstorian and the like. If everything is nukes and atomizations, sometimes the understated and abrupt works really well.DarklordKyo said:Fair enough, but just "kill the dude" isn't really what I'm looking for. Good idea, though I'm not really looking for Fatalities. Besides, not all Instant Kills are how I described (Jan Kuradoberi's is just a simple sidekick powered by anger-filled sorrow), it's just that it's only fitting for one of the most powerful DC heroes to have a really cool one.altnameJag said:If everything is nukes and atomizations, sometimes the understated and abrupt works really well.
Like, she does the whole "activating a super" slow-down, does a short range grab, maybe a dashing short range grab, then she just puts her sword through the bottom of one side of the rib cage and the pointy bit comes out the collarbone on the opposite side. Then she just...leaves it there.
I mean, if I were designing a lethal fighting game move.
