I hate the build-up.
I become so anxious to get my gifts on Christmas Eve, forced to go to the party and stay there for much of the night. So the day itself.

My favorite part is when it's over.

I've not liked Christmas for years, too many of them have been my Mom getting drunk off of wine and fighting with my sisters and my Dad being an oblivious dick.

The candy in the stockings is ok though, I especially like the red and green M&M's that collect at the bottom.

I begin to enjoy Christmas from Christmas Eve at like 8pm until about 7pm Christmas Day.

But mainly the presents and the food and the lying around in pyjamas all day.

No seriously, I don't get to spend too much time with my family and I like to know they're all safe and still talking to each-other. Gifts are a small part of the holiday, and the thoughtfulness of one is what matters the most anyway. Every year my cousins are a little more grown up, and a little less mature (most anyway). Every year someone burns the biscuits, but that's because they have no sense of time just like grandma. And every year I spend the entire weekend locked in a room playing video games.
