When you're typing up a paper, or a blog post, or a forum reply, what words cause you to slow down your pace, or always make you go back and fix spelling errors? These are often words we all know how to spell and have written thousands of times before, but sometimes, they just jump up and bite us and we get that red squiggly line under them.

For me, the word "specific" always slows me down. I generally end up writing "speficif"

"Responsibility" is another one all those I's right there in a row make me slow down to make sure I've got enough.

A third one is the word "because" almost (i just typed "amlost") always write "beacuse"

So let's hear it Escapist! What words give you the most trouble when typing?

Words that end with "-bility". My fingers get a little happy with the i's when I'm typing fast.

Ac!d, I blame Metal Gear.

More seriously, though, Colosseum. I usually spell it 'colloseum.'

This only happens when I handwrite, it's the word "murmur". My handwriting causes it to just look like, well, I can't actually write it here, but it just looks like a random squiggle.

Incompetent. It kinda sabotages anything you say if you spell it incorrectly, so I avoid it :p

I often mix up my "i"s and "l"s. If I'm not paying attention, I would write (or read) "mali" or "fali" instead of "mail" or "fail". I might have a touch of dyslexia.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - if you can spell that without slowing down there's something wrong with you.

absorption coefficient, had to write it at least a dozen times for a physics report and managed to spell it wrong every time.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious...it's easy if you know the song. (I knew the italian one where it's supercalifragilisticexpialidoso but I've since learned the english one)

Definitely is also mine. Also I sometimes add a double l to trully. Don't know why.

I make a lot of spelling mistakes when I type.

trying to spell understanding I wrote unst standing.
and just today I wrote slepping instead of sleeping.
also spelling giraphphe instead of giraffe. (someone was asking me how to spell a word)

My friend Chris makes ten times funnier by reading them aloud.

It's not typing for me, but as much as I hate to admit it, saying Nuclear always trips me up.

For whatever reason my brain wants to add a vowel sound between the c-and-l. I know it's suppose to be pronounced New-clear...but for whatever reason my brain fights it.

So whenever I have to use the word, and I am a Research Technician studying membrane receptors so I have to use it quite a bit, I have to slow myself down. I think it's more that I feel self-conscious saying it, which makes me self-conscious while saying it, which makes me more self-conscious saying it...anyway I really irks me that it gives me some trouble.

Any word with many similar or even identical letters does that to me. I often put in too many repetitions (<-also one of them) into - for example - banana.
