Fuck yeah, Worms Armageddon is on Steam. Well, you have to pre-order Worms Revolution to get it. And Revolution seems like...well, still Worms with prettier graphics. And it's cheaper than Reloaded. And you get Armageddon with it. Totally. Worth. The. Price. Especially since it's £12 (which is 15$).

Who else likes Worms? Who else is loving the fact that it gets more exposure?

I'm off to explode some sheep and bananas now, if you'll excuse me.

I fucking LOVE me some Worms.

That was still probably under-emphasised. Although I haven't played in years as the later games have been lacking, I really do enjoy the oldschool wormage. I haven't pre-ordered Revolution yet as I'm worried about it being another Reloaded... I may be swayed at that price. Hmm, 4-pack anyone?

:)

Dude, even if it is Reloaded, you still get Armageddon with it. I'll totally pay £12 for it alone. Actually, I did - I'm downloading it now. Besides, Reloadedd wasn't that bad...well, only it was toned down from before but whatever. I still enjoyed it. The bull if now my favourite weapon ever - I can't stop laughing when I use it. And the ferrets are really cool. If they could port those two back to older games, I'll be really happy. Or at least...well have a game with all the weapons in. But the mole bomb can stay away - I never ever learned to to use it properly nor have I seen anybody that did.

Well my download is done. And I still have my old custom made voice packs - me and friends recording lines and another one with only Counter Strike sounds. Let's see how it goes.

I love Worms even though I'm terrible at it. I bought the Worms reboot three different times on different platforms. I've got good memories of Armageddon too. I'm unsure whether a pre-purchase is worth it though.

Kick ass! I've never played any Worms games before and I really wanted to try it, so this is probably the time to get it.

Is this only a multiplayer game or does it have an adventure mode (I'm hoping)?

P.S. Do you know if there's any remaining speech-bank repositories on the internet? I miss my Fear & Loathing...

Revolution or Armageddon? I don't know anything about Revolution, but Armageddon has single player missions (they range from "Kill everything" to puzzle based) and few other SP modes, such as time challanges and deathmatch (you play a round, each following round becomes harder). You can also play against computers.

Also, I really think this is a great purchase to start you off in Worms - you get two games, and even if Revolution sucks, you can always fall back on Armageddon which is a classic.

I dunno. I suppose there are some. Quick googling gave me this [http://vader.wurmz.net/sbanks/] (ironically that's Vader's website...) and this [http://forum.team17.com/showthread.php?t=45166] probably there are some more more...well, complete collections. Mine custom voices were made by me, though. Well "made" is giving me too much credit but still.

I found this [http://wsbdb.org/]

Looks pretty complete, plus a few updates. Will download after Armageddon is done.

I'm in the Revolution Beta and Preordered Reloaded. I adore Worms Armageddon, but I can't give any more money to Team 17 for the shite that's come out since.

Give me the option to buy it separately and I'll buy it for fucking everyone I know, and I've got 5 copies of Armageddon already.

P.S This is coming from a disgruntled Shoppa/WxW player, the others are fine games if you don't care about incredibly slippery physics and a gimped rope.

Edit: Do the beta updates/wormkit work with the Steam version?

Thanks for the info, really looking forward to it now. You have an online account name I should keep my eye out for?

Haven't made one yet. I suppose it will be same as here DoPo, if possible, failing that..I dunno, I'll let you know.

Sweet. Thanks, for that.

Any thoughts you can share? I only saw the info on Steam and it seems to me it's Worms with better graphics + some more new weapons (water bombs) + some of the old ones (Old Lady FTW). And there was something about roles of the worms - soldier, scientist, scout and heavy but I've got no idea what those are.

I don't know. I'll try that. I think there shouldn't be a problem, after all it's still the same game.

EDIT: WormKit seems to work. Or at least it doesn't complain. I'll take that as working for now, but I'll test it more thoroughly later.

Sadly not sure what I can say as I signed something or other but I guess I'm allowed to say I'm in because Steam broadcasts I'm playing it every time I load it up. Not played it a great deal either, and I'm too bias towards Armageddon so my personal opinions will likely be wildly different to others.

Pretty sure it should, as I doubt they'd have changed it too much but seeing as everyone plays online off the beta updates as they've added a hell of a lot, if you can't it's not worth getting to play online.

OK, fair enough. At least general opinion - good, bad, could be better, could be worse? Nothing too specific, I doubt it'll be a violation of the NDA.

Yeah, I tested it briefly and it seems to work. I believe the only changes in the Steam version is that it comes with all the official patches and it checks for Steam on startup, so pretty standard. It should generally behave exactly the same as any other version otherwise. At least that has been the general trend of porting games over to Steam.

Later tonight? I'll be busy with doing stuff other than gaming for a while. I'll send you an invite on Steam.

Better than Reloaded, rope is much nicer to use but still not Armageddon levels of awesome. Still floaty/slippery physics but less so than Reloaded.

Fun though! Just I prefer Armageddon.

OK, that's good to hear. I'll see it for myself in about three weeks time. I'm happy, though, I like my Worms games fun. I still prefer Armageddon, too (well but I've been playing World Party for the past few years, which I don't really mind). We'll see. Whatever the case, it's good to finally have a really awesome Worms game on Windows 7.

Yeah World Party is great as well, it's just not been maintained like W:A was and hasn't got all the updates etc that Deadcode/Cybershadow made, which is where everyone was online. Which I have since found confirmation [http://steamcommunity.com/app/217200/discussions/0/866071665483381538/] that those updates are in the Steam version already. Standalone Steam version would be an instant buy for me!

Edit: If people want to organise games you could use The Escapist Worms Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-Worms-Group]. If anyone is actually going to be active I'll make them admin as it's never updated by me any more. Just a thought, not really peddling a dead group I own.

I joined. I don't want any powerz at the moment, though.
