worked like a dream until the enemy jumps in front of you, or the building, or the rock wall, basically anything anywhere near you would kill you.

Uh, sticky grenades. The British tried them in WW2 if I remember correctly. I guess they stuck to the wielder's hands and clothes rather than what they were supposed to. The 10 second suicide respawn almost cost them the war.

Double-ended Lightsaber. Looks awesome, but there's a huge chance that you'll slice off your own limb. Seriously. And the handle isn't nearly long enough to use like a Bo Staff, so your grips are limited.
