okay, I'm sure at least most of us have gone to the dentist. and I'm certain some of us dread that moment of having to go.

but what was your worst moments with going to the dentist?

Me? 2 words: oral surgery.

they put me on morphine, knock me out, and I wake up feeling my worst. I felt as weak as an infant made of whipped cream, I had to have a strawberry shake for breakfast and had to live off jello for days.

also, I was told blood got into my stomach, which is why I also ended up vomitting blood for a short while.

I've never really had a painful dentist moment but when I was 16 I had to get braces. I'll tell you that first day with braces was nearly unbearable. I had a wicked headache, my mouth hurt and I could hardly chew anything due to the pain.

That first day with them was by far the most painful thing I can remember besides my first major gout attack. Both sucked.

scared to death because there was talk of needing braces....
Then just going in for a cleaning. No scraper or anything. Totally overreacted.

Wow, I feel bad for you.

My worst dentist moment was when we all went to the dentist. My mom goes in, no sweat, nothing wrong.

An hour and a half pass by. People are actually walking in, getting treated first, while we're still sitting there.

Finally my mom comes out, and our next family member was called. After an hour and a half, one family member is treated and another is called.

My dad gets angry, we leave. It turns out this one dentist was supposed to get all five of us, one after another consecutively. And when I later went and had the same dentist do me, she took a while and my mouth was in pain when we finished.

So, let me summarize: instead of having all of us have maybe two different dentists, we had one, whom took a long while. We would've sat there for at least six hours if we hadn't left.

Not a bad experience, just annoying.

The dentist I usually go to has TV screens on the ceiling so the patients won't be bored while in the chair. What's fun is getting stabbed in the gums several times and tasting blood in your mouth while the dentist watches The View on said screen. I'm not usually have a problem with dentists, but when they're shoving pointy objects into my teeth without paying attention, I get a bit nervous.

I only had braces, but I wore em like a man. which is to say, avoiding painful situations so there would be no need to complain. but to prove my manliness to my friends I ate an apple on the first day of braces.

felt like chewing nails.

When I got my wisdom teeth removed, one of the holes wouldn't stop bleeding. Now, chewing on jello-like blood clots is gross enough, tasting blood all day is also gross. I also decided to go to the bathroom at night, all topped off with T3s and my hole still bleeding, stood up, got into the bathroom and then passed out due to low blood pressure because of the blood loss. Good times...

Went to the dentist for the yearly routine-check, the bastard pulled out 4 molars without anaesthetics.
And one time I bit a car, had to get the tooth re-built. While he was drilling (the drill isn't really a drill, it's a spinning sawblade) the little sawblade fell off and cut me inside my mouth, seriously, it was like sending off sawblades with the gravitygun in HL2. Couldn't drink/eat anything sour for the next two weeks.

One time, I chipped my tooth and I had to get it filled. Several times during the operation, they hit the nerve. Hard. I don't think I've ever been in greater (or at least more debilitating) pain.

At least the Novocaine's always fun to play with afterward. I love being able to touch my face and not feel it.

I once had to have 4 teeth taken out (2 from the top, 2 from the bottom) through the use of many injections which I have a terrible fear of :(

How's about throwing up when having a gum shield fitted?

All over the dentist's hand. And me. And the chair.

And the floor...

Pretty much this.

My braces actually didn't hurt that badly, funnily enough.

The worst times are when they try to have a conversation with you while there are 3 hands, a plastic brace, 5 foam pads and a power drill in your mouth. It was at a time like this that the dentist decided to ask me about what I was planning on doing over spring break. When I was silent he asked again, and he looked annoyed that I hadn't answered him. So I mumbled, and looked down at my mouth, so they stopped the drill and waited for me to answer the question while there was still all this junk in my mouth.

hmmm...
Probably the time they had to drill a hole into my bone then thread it to make room for a screw, but didn't anethesise it properly. It hurt like a metaphorical ***** and i was spitting up blood for around a year cos my mouth wouldn't stop bleeding. Finally stopped around a month ago.....Delighted
