Every game is unique in it's own way. Some can be fun, some are hard. But there are some games which are soooooo tedious and not worth it, it doesn't compare with anything. And what you get as an ending will make you mad as hell. It's not worth it. So I ask you people, what's the worst ending you have ever seen? (Ghostbusters on NES anyone?)

One of the worst game endings I've ever gotten was the ending for Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands. First off, the final boss was piss easy. It was simply pitiful how easy it was. Second, the ending was idiotic. Everyone in the palace gets better and your 'brother' dies. It was done quite bad.

And then third, the scenes after the credits that were trying to link this game to the sequals completely disregarded Warrior Within. It didn't even remotely mention it. TFS really doesn't belong as part of the PoP trilogy.

Red Dead Redemption

I'm at 98.4% completion and can't turn it back on for more than 5 minutes without getting sick of Jacks whiny voice

Batman: Arkham Asylum had a less that loved ending for me. I saw it coming halfway through and hoped I was wrong..... I wasn't. BUT the gameplay made up for the ending.

Obsidian can't make proper endings to games.
Why should we trust their gameplay precluding Fallout: New Vegas endings they're so keen on again?

OT: Probably the original Fallout 3 ending. Although it was moving at least. Somehow the ending to Bioshock didn't really satisfy me either.

Actually, I'm going to go with Neverwinter Nights 2 as well;

everybody dies.

Halo 2. Actually, any ending where nothing is accomplished in the game, or everyone dies/makes the whole thing pointless.

Mass Effect 2, where everyone dies..buy I suppose that's the player's fault, isn't it?

Hurr hurr hurr

Joking aside, I think that my vote goes to Left4Dead 2's ending in "The Passing". They give all that hype about meeting the old Left 4 Dead survivors and the ending looked like it had been written and directed by Uwe Boll.

Damn Uwe Boll.

I have to agree with you on this one. I didn't like the ending on it. I think it could have been done a whole lot better.

As for Fallout 3 and Bioshock (two games I thoroughly enjoyed) the endings weren't as big of a cockslap as most people say. Yes, Fallout 3 did have an ending that didn't allow you to run around and have fun after the credits, but I still did pretty much everything before completing the main quest anyway. And as for Bioshock, the ending at least felt like an ending. Final boss, beaten by the little sisters, then either a 'good' ending or a 'bad' ending and both (frankly) were enjoyable in their own respect.

The one game with a pretty shit-tastic ending? Has anyone forgotten the end to the original super mario brothers?

"Thanks for rescuing me. NOW DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!"

Seriously. First time I saw this I nearly crapped myself and finally got to world 4-1 again before saying "oh fuck this."

Edit:
Special mention to Pokemon Gold and Silver (or HG and SS) for having a rather clever final boss fight against... YOURSELF. And then just ending with no closure after you beat him.

You meet red! (cool!)
He says nothing. (poetic!)
Battle starts! (lets go!)
You beat him! (not that hard...)
Battle ends! (whoo!)
You get money from him! (alright! now what?)
END CREDITS! (...the fuck? Came out of nowhere...)

The Saboteur had a pretty poor ending.

You shoot the ultimate bad guy, and then you just continue playing.

Agreed. When I first beat super mario I got really pissed that it took 8 worlds of the same shit and all I got was THAT.

Assassins Creed (first) had a horribly bad ending fight. The first 95% of the game is 'do something, then repeat it', and when you finally connect the so-called dots you've been given it turns out that the last boss can use magic (wat?), and the room where the protagonist is being held in present time is full of every little thing you could possibly connect to Illuminati, Free-masons and every other shit cult thing. It's the worst they could've done, and they outdid themselves on it. No real explanation or anything, just a lame excuse for an unnecessary sequel.

Well, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Shadow of the Colossus,(Yes, Shadow of the Colossus. If you quote me and complain, I will ignore you.) You know, the obvious ones.

in Fear 2 you get raped by a ghost at the end.
Um, I think you should actually try telling people what game the spoiler is for. Otherwise, no one's going to click it because they don't know if it applies to them or not.

I mean, fortunately, you were talking about FEAR and no one gives a flying shit about that game's story, but the principle stands.

Fable II. I mean, it's just unbelievable in its badness. Borderlands is pretty bad as well, but then again, almost all of the boss fights are rather piss easy.
