LoL, DotA, Smite, whatever, I ain't here to judge. I'm personally a LoL and DotA 2 player, and I love how the MOBA genre is absolutely unique even within itself. However, it's not only the community which can bring you frustation/rage, sometimes a specific combination within the game makes you take a deep breath and say: "Fuck my e-life". This is a thread to share the worst frustration/beatdown/feeling you've ever experienced in a MOBA.

For me nothing can quite beat playing a squishy, late game carry against Bane and jungle Legion Commander. That feeling when you're Nightmare'd, your support ran away, and there's Tresdin, right next to you, just counting the seconds until she can show you where exactly you can shove your dreams of owning a Butterfly. Repeat this until Tresdin has a Divine Rapier worth of extra damage.

Getting killed by Minions early or late game in LoL is pretty high up there. Jungle Mobs get a pass since there actually a bit of a challenge but getting killed by a lane minion is something you will hear about for the rest of the game.

Community wise dealing with people who tell you NOT to play s a certain champion is an annoyance. Whenever I play as ADC Thresh I get that one person who goes "WTF noob, Thresh is sup" and then tries to boot me from the game.

Thank god for no kick button.

Have you ever played a really long game as a pre-season 3 support, where the minions, especially the Super Minions, start to get really buffed up? It really felt like shit.

Maybe when I first started to play and I had no clue what was gong on yeah. But now? Eh, not really. A lot of the Champs I play as, like Cho'Gath and Hecarim, have good AOE abilities so late game I have no trouble clearing whole groups of minions in a single hit.

When your internet starts to cut out, or starts being just complete ass and you're lagging and you can't do anything helpful.

You get pissed, your team gets pissed, and your gonna have a bad time.

Also when you are having a bad day and you just can't get anything going. You can't get your last hit timing, heroes are getting away with little life, and you just can't seem to coordinate your hands. Bah.

Playing support for a clueless ADC.

I main support, so I get this fairly often. See, if you're the adc and your support sucks, you can at least just focus on staying alive and farming up. Likewise for almost any other role in the game. But as support? If your pet damage dealer is off with the fairies than you're useless. All you can do is watch them die while you run away, or dive in to protect them and watch them die anyway, shortly before you follow them.

Being behind as the jungler is pretty crap too. You need to spend your time farming yourself back into relevance, but your team is crying out for ganks left, right and centre. If you don't gank, you're not fulfilling your role. If you do, you'll probably just end up feeding your juicy underfarmed arse to the enemy.

Not that I let negative feelings get me down (most of the time), but there have been frustrations. Course the community comes to mind, but I just remind myself that I'm newer at the game than at least one other person so it's okay to make mistakes. Perhaps one of the more depressing events is never learning your limits. I could be knee-deep in deaths in a game of Awesomenauts and keep rushing the enemy because hey, I got dynamite, so let's make this party happen. Yeah, it's something that comes with practice, but I'm just soooo pent-up for a confrontation by mid-game that I just rush to my death(s).

Most of these feelings come from personal faults, like jungling on the opposite end of the map when a perfect ganking opportunity takes place. It's all practice for me, because I'll get paired with newer players from time to time. It's out of my control.

But I have had to play with the turret-feeder. It's...a show, to say the least.

Playing unranked with tryhards that demand I play their way instead of letting me do what I want. I don't care about your grand strategy or the fact that you called top, I just want to play and don't want to deal with your tryhard bullshit. It's not like it even means anything either because it's unranked. Hell, to me ranked is just as meaningless because you're never going to make Platinum EVO and get an invite to the next season finale tournament. The tryhards are why I quit LoL cold turkey over a year ago and haven't picked it up since.

For me, it would be when you're playing against a team that is equally skilled to you, maybe your team is even a little better, but you're losing because their team composition is better. It's frustrating because there's nothing you can do but slowly lose. A lot of the time it's not obvious that your team comp is bad, it's just that every enemy player picked the most powerful champs.

Yo' you think that's bad? Try playing squishy AD carry against the sudden Blink Dagger in out of nowhere Legion Commander/Skywrath Mage ult combo. Free Duel stacks in 2 seconds or less, all fucking game long.

OT: Not counting disconnecting because my internet is shit, I would say playing jungle when every ************ on your team is feeding. Bonus points when someone manages to die before I even get to do my first full clear. Also jungling is HARD in DOTA, fuck ganking. I've having a hard time living in there, PVE is hard. Almost as hard as killing the Raid Boss Wight in League early on.

Me and a friend have been working on a saying: everything in League is mostly "balanced" (although I have no idea what the fuck they think the word "nerf" means after this Lucien change) in Smite, everything is broken as fuck (CC immunity, CC immunity for everyone!) and in DOTA everything is overpowered as hell. I really can't play DOTA anymore, I'd take balanced and/or broken over Cold Snap/EMP Invoker any fucking day.

I'm really liking Smite right now. Although when I get to character select I watch whatever everyone else is picking and just lock Odin after massive internal debate because bitches, I main J4 in League and Odin can do any solo lane, jungle or duo, he's versatile as hell. The level 3 tower dives are real. Second point in the spin at level 3 instead of the AS buff and just wait for them to extend into Lunge range for half a second. Thinking about it, I could just leave that buff with no points in it all game and focus on maxing the spin ASAP because YO THAT DAMAGE THO.

Nobody plays Odin as well, absolutely nobody. It's like they looked at the ult and went "oh too hard, I can't make plays with that. I might get my whole team killed."

Getting heavily counter jungled, I hate that worse than anything else in LoL. Another is wanting to be able to skip a game after teammates finish picking and have made a worthless team comp. Seeing a team that has zero crowd control and no tankiness to speak of is just a recipe for wasting 20 minutes.

Any time that involves getting stomped and just waiting on the game to end. Extra dreadful in Dota where you can't even surrender when your team is 0-13 by 20 minutes.

Bonus points when your support, cuz this means you have nothing to support. Your heals or CC means nothing because the enemy tank has Warmogs/Heart and their carry finished up infinity edge/Deadelus already.

Grind. LoL would have been fine if it was my first moba, but it wasn't. Dota was my first moba. And grinding to get a fully functional LoL account / rune page / access to all the roles (jungling without a runepage impossible) / access to all the heroes is so backwards and chafing. I hate it. And that's not even to mention how the 1-30 level range is full of smurfs who can't stand the presence of a genuinely new player.

In all my years of Dota, Dota 2 and my year or so of Smite, I've never seen so much consistent, hideous vitriol. Game after game. League's community is fucking disgusting, far, far, far worse than any other moba.

... Anyway, aside from grind, the humble misplay is what feels worst. You know what to do, but for some reason your fingers do something else. Or your cursor accuracy suddenly fails you, and you end up throwing the teamfight or destroying an aegis in the TI3 semi-finals. RIP kyxy.

Having to read essay after essay of builds and meta before you even start.

Having to allow yourself to be berated and yelled at for daring to want to learn a game instead of being pro off the bat.

Trying desperately to do what the team wants you to do but can't because for some reason them getting killed is your fault because you can't be in all three lanes at once.

Screw MOBA's.

As I read somewhere else:

"If I have to worry about pissing somebody off when trying to learn to play a game, then fuck those people and fuck that game."

I don't play MOBA's but I'll post something from MMO's instead:

Whenever I roulette on FFXIV for a dungeon and find that the tank is woefully undergeared and has no idea what he's doing. The other day I had one that was wearing level 15 crafting accessories in a level 40 dungeon.

Or that feeling where you eat Titan's landslide in HM.

Your thoughts after his massive nerf?

OT: -When the first thing a teammate do is insult someone in your team when he/she "fails/feed" a bit.
- I only play Smite so: "Never Give up" trolls and try hards in unranked.
-fighting againts Pre-mades, while your team is just a bunch of randoms.

Being stuck in a lane with an enemy champion that is way better at the game than you are, and then you end up feeding them, much to the displeasure of the rest of the team.

I got stuck in a lane with Kat once on LoL. Never doing that again.

I find the reverse true when I play smite. Too often 4 people on my team are doing fine, but 1 person is terrible and just likes to spam surrender when we are down 2 kills and up 2 towers. I find it annoying and I don't even have to make up a slur to describe that type of person!

But what I find really annoying in MOBAs are AFK junglers. When our team is getting raxed or losing tier 3s/pheonixs and our jungler is 0-0-0... AND THINK THEY ARE PLAYING CORRECTLY, it kinda gets to me. The team would have actually done better if you had started the game by abandoning so we could get your passive gold. If you think your job is to farm for the first 30min of the game without contributing to the team, and then suddenly be OP and save the day, you're wrong. If your team has managed to win that 4v5 for 30min, they would have won without you, you did nothing to help.

Exception is if both teams have AFK junglers, then the 4v4 is fair.
