Worst Geek Movies Ever Made

Having just read Moviebob's Geek Movie List, I'd like to discuss its polar opposite. What, in your opinion, are the worst Geek Films ever made? Lets try to avoid name calling and keep this as intellectual as possible.

First ones to pop into my head are the Superman Films. I recognize the cultural impact of the first one, but that doesn't save it from having the dumbest ending I've ever seen in a movie. We all know this one so I wont get into it, save to say that I cant watch it without feeling a little insulted that I'm meant to be taking this seriously. The later films have their own problems, namely that the writers have apparently no regard for sticking to the established canon regarding characters, powers (Mind control superman? Really?), or storyline. Never mind the fact that the new film gave him a fricking son, and basically just repeated the ending of the first (what? Lex Luthor using Kryptonite AGAIN? Inconceivable!)

My biggest problem is that there seems to be no logic to what Superman can and cant do. He cant fly fast enough to catch two missiles going opposite directions, but he can orbit the world hundreds of times per second a few minutes later. He cant handle a single chunk of kryptonite chained to his chest but apparently has no problem LIFTING AN ENTIRE ISLAND MADE OF THE STUFF! He also appears to have mind erasing abilities but never decides to use them on any of the villains. Lex has a evil plan to stop you? Not anymore!

If the next Batman movie gave him fire breath and heat vision with no explanation we'd call foul. If the upcoming Captain America movie had the Cap using his telekinesis powers to throw tanks with his mind, there would be rioting in the theaters. Why should Superman, the most iconic superhero figure of all time, deserve anything less?

Anyway, that's my beef. What's yours?

Transformers should have been nerdy and awesome, because it was fucking Transformers.

Michael Bay is the anti christ for sure.

i guess it's kicking in an open door but i think Star-wars (not the newest but the original trilogy) and Lord of the Rings.
i also like pseudo action-philosofical movies like Matrix and Equilibrium for this.
But really anything that challenges the mind and has a great premise and setting will do

If we were to talk purely on a technical level for the medium as opposed to contrasting movie logic with IRL logic (ie necrotic tissue that remain viable and able to coordinate the functions of the body? Bullsit) then definitely this;

So this. The characters were terrible both in comparison to the source material and by their own merits, the writing was fair at best and the climax was "wtf" inducing. I can't think of a single other geek film that doesn't have some kind of technical or creative incentive to it, where as staring at a series of 3D renders that required millions of dollars to make would have been preferable to watching Transformers.

Dude, did you actually read what this thread is about? I think you're a little confused.

I think you're a little confused as to the subject of this thread. Its supposed to be movies you DONT like. For the record though, I agree with your opinion. those were all very good.

Battlefield Earth and The Adventures of Pluto Nash are the worst I've seen. They're bad, really bad.

Ghost Rider, by far. It was pure agony to watch it. I sympathize for everyone, who has seen it.

Fireproof, on the other hand, is solid gold.

That flick is hilarious. Particularly when you subject others to it.
