All that can be said, really, is what do you think was the worst military loss? And I don't mean a war, I mean a battle, like the Battle of Little Bighorn, for example. It can be both modern or historical.

Edit: Wait, wait, this happened in another thread. Give a reason please, in the last one where I asked a question like this people were put on probation for just naming the person (It was about historical figures).

I assume you could just google that, couldnt you? I mean, it'd be there somewhere?
I meant in your opinion, not what is has been deduced was the true worst loss.

Russia invading Afghanistan. They got their asses handed to them. It was really really bad. 15,000 Russians died and they spent billions of rubles to get absolutly NOTHING. Then right after that the Taliban took over because the natives were in a state of devastation.

Right next to that was the US invading Vietnam. We got our dicks cut off in that war. Everyone knows it was an embarrassing loss that should have never even happened. We lost 60,000 men and lost our hard won dignity from WWII.

Then after that was the brilliant idea of Germany invading Russia to close to winter. Winter came and they all froze to death. Yay for the climate killing your enemies for you!

Hrm. World war I as a whole, I'd say.

And as far as a reason. In one day 56,000 men were killed in combat. :\

Pretty sure it was The Battle of the Somme in the Great War. More than 1 million people died in the space of like 5 months. Thats gotta be up there with the nastiest military operations ever.

It also was the scene for the most bloody day in British combat history. We had 57,470 casualties (dead/wounded/missing) in one day! Yes, I say again, 57,470 men killed or wounded in ONE DAY

Info thanks to wiki/ my WW uni lecturer :p

Actually, I'd like to amend that to just "France". There is so much that has been a militaristic loss. Even in FICTION, they can't win. And googling "French War Victories" has the search engine ask you if you meant defeats.

When 500 talibans were attacking 20 soviet paratroopers for 2 nights and failed miserably, I think there was no casualties on the soviet side. Finally the soviets flew them out with helicopters, presumably when they got bored of it

I'll raise you me and my cousins armed with that stuff you use for removing paint from walls vs anthill. and also, dropping 10-20 large ants next to the entrance of a underground small ants nest was one of the most awesome and traumatic experiences of my childhood.

also, every single invasion of Russia.
