Im sure every fellow escapist has been to a place that you immediately wanted to leave.

What was it about the place you didnt like? Was it the sights and smells? The prices and the people? Or even just that it was the opposite of your familiar surroundings?

For what its worth, mine is London. The tube journey alone was horrible, and to my horror I experienced 'London prices' meaning things are double the price everywhere else in the UK. The sights were fine but ultimately ruined by the heavy traffic that you cant escape. London appeared to be one giant tourist trap and I could go the rest of my days without going again.

I dont want to start flame wars, if your hometown is mentioned just be open to the fact not everyone likes it like you. Keep it civil.

I went to New Orleans this past February.

I've never been so angry at an entire city so quickly.

Slough in England. I don't know why but every time I've went there for a badminton tournament I've ended up hating myself for it because of that place. It's a nightmare. It took my dad around 2 hours to drive about 1/2 a mile through the place. So depressing.

Haha, thats my hometown! And yes, it IS depressing.

Worst place I've ever been was some place in Rome that was made completely out of human bones.

The cinema which aired The Village to me.

Although on a more serious note, Grimsby really sucks. Clue is definitely in the name.

May I ask why? I've never been there, so I wouldn't know.

Anywho, I've been to Chicago twice and I've hated it twice. Granted I was stuck in a bus station both times, but man it's like Mos Eisley on planet Earth. Scum and Villainy

L.A was a major dissapointment... not what I expected at all! It was so tacky and even hollywood wasn't impressive in the slightest.

Full of drunks, strippers, whores, bad food and smelled awful.

York, England.

I went there for a short holiday, and it was so boring, sorry for anyone who lives there, but I ended up spending most of my time watching the Beijing 2008 Olympics on the crappy hotel TV for most of the time...

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Houston, the traffic is horrible the highways are laid out in very odd ways, you cant drive a mile without seeing a billboard for some wacky church and it smells weird

Granada in Spain. Everything is uphill even when you want to go downhill (wut), you can hardly breathe because it's so fucking humid, and the "attraction" was just some shitty garden, which had zero shade.
