Worst Team In An Online Game

What has been the worst team in recent memory that you have been put on? Any team-based game will do.
Did this team flat out anger you? If it did; with what, talking, team-killing, lagging, or just plain stupidity?

I mostly play Halo 3, so if any of you have played it, you know how horrible these players can be. On Wednesday, I was playing capture the flag on the map Avalanche and the players that they had grouped me with was fine defending the flag, but when it came to capturing...
I held the enemy flag at their own side with their own vehicle for two minutes (I would get out of the vehicle and grab the flag, then go back in to kill them), but my team wouldn't come help. They would just go their own way (hell, one was even guarding our base). At least it was a tie game, but these guys were bad.

So, what are your stories?

My story is also from Halo 3. My first one, anyway.
BTB, a social playlist in which teams of 8 participate in Slayer and a few Objective gametypes. We were playing the former on Valhalla, and I couldn't possibly be happier. A deathmatch on one of my favorite maps? Perfection.

Everyone, including my friends in the game, quit, aside from one untalkative fellow who never seemed to answer the questions I asked him in the pre-game lobby. Still, it was us against 8 people, and people do tend to bond in those situations. We made a fortress out of our base. Warthogs were driven into the doorways, to make access more difficult. Shotgun ammo was stockpiled, and the mighty Sniper was left alone in favor of CQB weapons. The other team had the numbers, but they had no organization, and we were able to catch up using this strategy for a while. Of course, this did not last long. The hogs eventually disappeared, freeing up two new access points. It was then that the other team decided to strike. The shots from their needlers blocked out the sun, but we fought on, in a slightly pink-ish hue.

This is sort of turning into a story of an epic battle, as opposed to the story of a bad team. Still, they all quit on us. Bastards.

-A sort of quiet guy probably around my age that doesn't say anything when he's being smoked.

My story is a DotA story.

Lots of jargon following!

It consited of me playing Omniknight (support healer) with the most kills and only positive k:d ratio, Grindy McGrinderson who just looooved killing creeps by himself, and three idiots who thought that the fact I had a heal meant they could blink into five enemy heroes and then ***** me out when they died.

In CoD4 my team once beat the other team 750-90. (No clans involved, just random pairings).

He screamed at me and my friend (3 vs 3) for NOT charging into the shield door where a guy who obviously had a shotgun was standing, in plain sight, behind it. Then proceeded to do it, over and over again, with his shrill screams including 'you guys are fucking noobs! you guys cant play halo!' which got louder and included more profanity as the game continued. Sometimes he killed us cause we didnt do it, or set the other team up for the kill by grenading us before he charged.
The end score was 49-50. The guy died 34 times. That means he single handedly brought down the entire team by getting more deaths than the rest of his team combined and then times by 2.

Well yesterday on Battlefield 1943 my teammate keptstanding infront of me when I was trying to snipe. So I threw down some of those detonater bomb things and then attempt to blow him up.

I hate when people do that. They start barking out orders that don't work and then do this or ragequit.

L4D Versus mode on Blood Harvest. Everything was going swimmingly until two of my three teammates decided to ragequit during the finale...

Luckily, I had a Latino- sounding teammate that busted his hump to help me if I got smoked or had a tank barreling down on me, and I reciprocated. We even ended up bridging the score gap and winning.

Haha, yea. I actually wish he did rage quit. We would have won that game hands down.
Of course, there was this guy who barked orders to me, which i obeyed (i was doing it anyhows) where i had to distract the other team while we control the middle of the map in a CTF.
It was vahalla, i picked up a shotgun and charged their base and didn't die. The guy then quit with his friends for some reason and left me, my brother and my friend to fend for ourselves.
We won, 1-0. In a BTB 6 vs 3 CTF. Never listened to other people online again, unless its logical.

I still don't have the "What are you trying to prove?" achivement. =\

Worst are the teams that are not actually there to play, just to give others grief (aka 'Griefers'). Primarily seen in DoTA and any online FPS. There was one nasty guy about 2 weeks ago who repeatedly ran into the enemy without attacking ignoring all help (and causing several of us to die trying to save him before we knew any better). He likely wasn't attacking due to being too busy typing in macroed ASCII images of various... things that I will not go into detail over, preventing us from communicating. Then he spams the channel with the address of some porn site. 15 minutes in he has 9 deaths, hits us all with various racial insults and quits program before anyone can respond. If it had been an FPS I'm sure he would have had some kind of disgusting image spray too.

Thankfully, few are the player this degenerated. No point to saying his name, he's likely changed it by now.

Don't shoot at the tank if you're going to set it on fire. Apparently fire damage != bullet damage.


I personally have no single worst team thus far. Just the countless twats in public servers on games such as Day of Defeat who refuse to play the game properly.

Usually in Halo 3 I get saddled with shithouse players while the other team rocks everyones nuts off. My wife and are usually carrying the team and we're really not that good.

But in particular are the people who run in the wrong direction with the flag. Then boot you when you betray them just to keep them from delivering the objective back to the people we just worked so hard to steal it from.

It's the most frustrating when people do this on Sandtrap, where the base is on the Elephant rather than a static location. They run back to where the Elephant is usually parked, instead of following the blinking grey objective marker.
Also, morons who park your Elephant at the enemy base, where the enemy spawns and YOU don't, so the enemy gets three easy flag caps while you're spawning a mile away watching their score go up while you impotently pop battle rifle bursts at the distant figures, doing about as much damage as a vigorous backrub.

In Halo 3 I brought the other teams flag to my base on Avalanche. It was almost TOUCHING the place where we have to drop it off, but I died. Everyone else on my team was alive. They didn't score.

On the flip side, in Call of Duty my time reached the score limit of 75 kills in under two minutes.
