Worst thing that could happen to your favorite franchise

This was inspired by the news of a possible Watchmen 2. I consider the Watchmen franchise to be complete and perfect the way it is, and any modern addition to it would seem unnecessary to me.

So I ask, what would be the worst addition/change to your favorite franchise? (video games/movies/books/etc...

Note: Of course adding many escort missions to any videogame would be awful, this is more along the lines of custom made bad ideas that would insult you as a fan.

Trying to incorporate social things like facebook, twitter, and last.fm into a video game console. I find it to be an insult because it says, to me at least, that that the console can't stand on its own and needs dumb things like those to survive.

I would hate to see Final Fantasy ditch what's left of the turn-based system for an all-out "action-RPG" style of combat in the vein of Kingdom Hearts. It's not that it's an inherently bad system or anything, it just feels wrong in the context of Final Fantasy. I voice this concern mainly because with each successive game, Square seems to move closer to this style of combat. Here's hoping it won't get any worse.

A "grim and gritty and M-rated and DARK" reboot of The Legend of Zelda would be pretty insulting, too, but then again, I'm one of the Zelda fans who thought Twilight Princess was more LoTR than it was true Zelda, and in the worst way possible.
