I don't know who it was but any voice actor from Two Worlds was aweful. Maybe the actors themselves weren't all that bad but the material they had to work with was just the worst thing I have ever heard come out of a game.

Is Just Cause 2 supposed to be bad? Like a cheesy B-movie? If not, it's shameful by modern standards..

Main Guy "They tell me I'm the best"

Leader woman "Oh yes, I bet you are"

Main Guy "I'm gonna make stuff go bang now"

Leader woman "Yes, do that now please it good."

I was playing the demo, and that's how I remember the exchange at the start. I can't play it again because I find the stilted dialogue and wooden delivery (on a par with any of the under-30's in the Star Wars prequels) too embarrassing to watch again. Damn its unskippability.

EDIT: Oh, and I think her name is Bolo as well. That just reminded me of the Gorilla from The Mighty Boosh, which doesn't help anyone's credibility as a freedom fighter. Although, Gorilla/Guerrilla.. I'm going to abandon this train of thought before it drives me mad.

Well, the original Resident Evil is notoriously horrible for several performances.

I know you said no anime, but the worst I've ever been offended by a voice actor was the two main characters in the english dub of Revolutionary Girl Utena.

"He was our old partner y'know.."

Agreed here, but I do love a bit of the trainwreck dialogue, and the fact that the Resi cast seemed to have just been pulled off the street, stuck in a studio and told 'You're scared, read this! You'll get a shiny ninepence for it.'

I think it's worse when it's a big budget thing like a Final Fantasy game or something like that and they can't get any good actors. Resi for me benefits from a certain amount of 'aww, they're trying' with the voice acting, but these days there's really no excuse.

Games have been made for decades, it's time to phase out bad acting!

The beggars in Oblivion. Why do you change voice between sentences? It makes no sense! Grrr

When you mention FF I immediately think how bad a lot of the dialogue in FFX was. Now, I love the game, it's my favorite FF (yes I've played them all) but scenes like the "laughing" are just unbearable.

Dude, best to expand that description to all of the Resident Evil games. It's not exactly pulitzer material, but goddamnit it's funny ^^

OT: I personally reckon that Resident Evil 5 has to take the cake for this one. The writing AND acting were so monumentally bad that it made you laugh your arse off.

Actually scratch that and make that all Capcom games.

Just off the top of my head, Devil May Cry 3 and 4 had some awesome voices, particularly for the main character (interesting considering how radically different he is across the timeskip). And Dead Rising was OK most of the time.

Fucking Spike Spencer. I hate that **** with a passion I can only describe as holy. Don't know who he is? Yes, you do. If you ever watch dubbed anime you know who this fucker is.

Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 - Maki Stingray
Martian Successor Nadesico - Akito Tenkawa
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Shinji Ikari

God just thinking about his whiney ***** voice makes me want to punch a kitten in RAEG!

Edit:
Oops. Sorry. Misread the OP. Game not based on anime huh... the kids from Heavy Rain are the first that come to mind.
Really? Spike's performance is one of the big reasons that I like Evangelion so much. The man clearly had a very good understanding of the character to perform him as well as he did.

I once had a female beggar say "THANK YOU, KIND SIR" in the burly man voice. I then proceeded to murder said beggar.

Anyways, OT: Other M's samus didn't have a particularly great voice actor, as Yahtzee so delicately put.

although I agree that Just Cause 2 has the worst voice acting in a game I ever played. I still had fun playing it because of blowing shit up

Whoever did Ayumi from X Blades, which is American if I'm correct, was horribly miscast. The second she starts speaking in that valley girl accent, it sucks you right out of the game and makes you hate her.

"I am, like, totally the greatest treasure hunter EVAH! For realz, you guys! LOL! Look at my ass!"
