Would Disney Greenlight a Kingdom Hearts Movie?

Kingdom Hearts basically has a continuity as jumbled and scrambled together as the Marvel movies they're making. If they'll fund a movie based off an obscure comic book series that features a talking tree and gun-wielding raccoon, they may as well fund a movie after the biggest game franchise they own properties to.

I wouldn't say never but this seems really really really unlikely.

They may (I see it more as an Asian studio cooperate with Sqare Enix and Disney than Hollywood doing it) but it won't turn out so well.

One of the problems is fitting in all the cameos in such a small time and it won't be a simple cameo like they did with Wreck-It Ralph and who Frame Rogar. I don't played the games (but I did read the manga) but I do understand that Sora and co travel each of the Disney worlds. It a very high chances that they will cut alot of worlds and only picking like four or four at the most.

The problem is that Kingdom Hearts is mostly about style. The plot sucks, the dialogue sucks and the characters suck. All we're left with is gameplay and oodles of style, which works fine for a game but as a movie it's just shallow and just wouldn't translate as well. I cannot conceive a decent live-action portrayal of Sora, or Axel, or Squall, or Ansem or whatever. The costumes and hairstyles already look ridiculous as CG.
