I have never seen any reviews or videos or mention of any football (soccer) games on the escapist. the PES v FIFA battle every year is quite massive and i thought it would be discussed here. is it just because no one on this site likes footie? or is it on here and i haven't noticed?

Only PES fanboys think it's a better game. PES has admittedly better player models but is ruined by the shitty J-Rock music, weird team grades and generally crap gameplay.

But yeah, here, sports games seem to get relegated to being cited in any argument involving Call of Duty and/or dubious Activision/EA release schedules.

To begin with, sport doesn't get a huge amount of love on The Escapist in general, then there's the fact that the highest amount of users are from America, not a country with a huge love of football compared to other sports (I would assume the most amount of users are from the USA anyway). Then finally, the fact that FIFA has been kicking PES's arse in terms of football games for the past few years at least and it all amounts to not a lot of love for PES.

I'm going to wait until I play the Fifa 13 demo tonight to see if I'm going to buy a football sim this year. I thought the PES demo was ok, much better than previous years but I'm pretty bad at it. If the Fifa demo doesn't impress me, then I doubt I'll buy one this year.

Plus with the possibility of me buying RE6 and Dishonored too, something somewhere has to give.

Why don't we have this argument? A few reasons. Firstly because at least half (if not more) of the Escapist user base hail from regions where your football is referred to as 'soccer' and therefore don't care all that much. Secondly because FIFA shits all over PES (I don't play either very often, only on odd occasion with my brother, and even I know FIFA shits all over PES). And finally because many people (probably more than 70%) on the Escapist have a crippling fear of that thing called "outside."
