X Men Origins: Wolverine; Ultimate pointlessness?

I recently played this game and quite litterally finished it in a nine to five shift (Actually it was ten till seven) anyway, I discovered that the game seems to be utterly pointless. I played through it thinking to myself that they kind of blow the whole real-time healing system out of proportion, in fact, they blow the whole bloody healing system out of proportion. At the part where logan first has the adamantium fused to his bones he finds out that the striker bloke had placed a bio-enzyme in his blood which took away his regenerative powers and feral senses. So one minute I was beating shit out of guards the next i'm wandering around with half my torso missing, call me crazy but in the wolverine movies and comics he still feels pain, so i'm wondering how the bloody hell is he not writhing around the ground in pain? I also found it has three easter eggs, two dedicated to games, one to a TV show. The one that made me feel like the developers of this game had planted one in my testicles was the easter egg for portal. Put simply; Portal - Good, X Men Origins - Undoubtably short and bad. So whats the point in putting that there? I'll tell you what the point is, the point is there isn't one and that pretty much sums up the whole story for me, in fact the only time I felt like the game was challenging was when I was fighting the last boss, and that was only because he kept warping around and destroying parts of the ground which would make me fall to my..oh no wait it wouldn't, so how is it that in the first level when you dont have the adamantium in your bones you fall from the sky accelerating past speeds of possibly 150mph, land on some poor unsuspecting african chap and only dislocate a shoulder? And on the final boss fight you place one foot in the wrong place you end up failing the mission and have to start the bloody fight again! If you think you can make sense of this godawful nonsense, go ahead and let me know because right now this game wants me to rip out my eyes. That doesnt mean its all bad though, the graphics are almost decent and the controls are fairly easy to grasp, A to jump, B to grab, X to attack and Y to do an even more powerful uppercut that would rip the chin off of Desperate Dan. Theres also the bonus features like the old wolverine costumes, so what I always do is chuck the classic uniform on and rip the arms off unsuspecting guards and when I get shot or I have my arse blown off by a rocket or explosive barrel I watch the suit heal like skin. So throughout this rant about the game I find that even though it has it's flaws it would be a good game for those who have nothing to do except be as sadistic as they can to poor the squishy people in this crazy mutant inhabited world.

...because the world needed another brick of text...

In all honesty, this is a poor rant. Games don't need to be realistically accurate, especially not when they are based off Xmen, a comic where characters die and resurrect themselves more than Christ...

Point taken, after all magneto did rip the adamantium out of wolverines body, and the incredible hulk ripped him in half. But it was my first post, and I wanted to see if I was any good at ranting, put simply. No

I played the game at a friends house. It's a nice little romp, short and over the top. I had no complaints. I also didn't pay for it. Take that as you will, but for what it's worth, it's rare that a video game captures a comic book character in their personality or abilities.
Hulk: UD got it spot on, as did Spiderman 2, and I think this game captures Wolverine well, both in character and ability.

Oddly enough, it appears that the game is better than the movie. Of course, people qualify that statement by saying "but the movie is so bad it's not much of a victory anyway).

I liked the movie :(

Wont be getting the game though, as good as it might be, it will just be a let down for me. Thats probably how you all feel with the movie, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
