I just finished watching the movie in an incomplete form (Some of the special effects weren't finished) and man did it surpass all of my expectations.

I've been a little worried about Marvel films for a while now. Iron Man and Hulk we're definitely a start in the right direction for Marvel getting back on their feet, but after seeing Punisher War Zone (the movie was good, but not excellent) I was a little worried that they were slipping. They're line up of future movies looks pretty good (Captain America, etc) and I am hoping that they are going to incorporate the whole S.H.E.I.L.D. and hulk teaming up with ironman theme they had going for them in Iron Man + Hulk, but they haven't done that with Punisher and even in Origins: Wolverine (which I was hoping they would).

Now Origins had me worried because they had so many "villains" in the trailer that I thought "oh no here comes another spiderman fiasco". That however did not happen. The story was very well put together and they avoided said spiderman syndrome in a way that was interesting (don't want to spoil anything).

Overall it's graphically what you expect from Marvel (action was tight, special effects we're good) and the fighting wasn't overplayed or overdone. The plot was very good for being a film that was not entirely based on any comic (which also had me worried)

I'm not going to spoil too much. I will say that if you enjoy comic book movies then you will probably enjoy this one. If your skeptical about the film like I was then I still advise giving it a go.

Oh. Dear. God. (I have to apologize for any following spoilers. Anyone wanting to not know any plot revelations, close your eyes.)

I am a fan of Deadpool. I like Deadpool shooting his targets without or with mercy, being a merc, making the jokes, etc. And in the movie, Wade Wilson was just that. Making the jokes, cutting the bullets. I laughed at the jokes and went "YES! AWESOME!" at the bullet-cutting ninja technique.

But Deadpool was not there. Instead, we have a hideous monstrosity that involved a Baraka-look-a-like with a pair of Japanese katanas, Cyclops' eye beams, teleportation and the worst death ever. And what sucks the most is that Origins seems to be breaking the Marvel Laws of Physics. Or alternatively, Wolverine can block AND deflect Cyclops' eyebeams. And this, my comic loving comrades, does not make sense. Nah, I was just now making a lie. What truly sucks the most, is the lack of the traditional Deadpool.

No insanity. No jokes. No mercenary activity.

WHAT HAPPENED?

My problems to a tee! The movie in my mind was a flaming pile of garbage, taking what could have been a great story line with great characters, and screwing them up beyond recognition. The Weapon X team was not the same as in the comic series, Gambit was barely used in the damn film, and deadpool was unrecognizable from his actual comicbook persona.

I also like how you say the graphics are good in the film, even though you watched the unedited version which has little to no graphics. Graphical prowess shouldn't even be considered in movies anymore, considering good graphics are a staple of the movie industry these days.

Yep, I too just can't abide by the decision to write out such a promising character. Deadpool is by far one of my favorite comic book characters, and to see him treated so roughly by a movie franchise that just keeps getting worse with each offering...unforgivable.

The Origins movie suffers from the same drive-by celebrity-character appearances as X-Men 3. While the earlier movie went, "Hey look it's Psylocke", this one tries to pull the same stunt with Gambit. I'm sick of it. The movie doesn't know whether it wants to please comic book fans by including fan-favorites, or movie fans by not bothering to stick with the back story and character development. In the end, they end up pleasing very few.

Wait... Deadpool dies? His healing factor is an ENHANCED version of Wolverines. He heals about twice as fast.

The film was utter garbage! lol. The only reason why i kept watching it was because the unfinished special effects were complete and utter comedy and imo added to the films aesthetic... Crappiness! :p lol

Same here! When I first heard about him being in it I was excited of the thought of finally seeing him in a movie, plus the possibility of him getting his own. But now, I weep for him.

Spoilers continue, readers be warned.

Simriel: Think Darth Maul's death from Star Wars episode 1, except that it's decapitation and Weapon XI keeps shooting his optic blasts and wrecking the place. If this was the comic book universe, Deadpool would have been alive because he has that super-enhanced regenerating factor, and because it seems Thanos forbade him to die (so, immortality bestowed by a nigh-God level cosmic entity).

Someone made an interesting theory somewhere. Weapon XI's decapitated head becomes T-Ray and the body will become Deadpool. Of course this involves the regenerating factor going berserk (which could obviously lead to what 'pool looks like) and first of all popping a new head for Deadpool, and a whole new body for the head.

I laughed, but for some reason it seems something that FOX might just do.

Aside from the horrendous fate for Wade Wilson, the movie was... average. I mean, Jackman did just fine as Wolverine, Sabretooth looked idiotic while running... well. The romance part, whereas it is quite a big deal in the history of Wolverine, it looked like the movie makers forgot it was there, and then hastily came up with something to show that there was something going on with Silver Fox and Wolverine. "Oh yeah, and these guys were into each other, or something. Then she dies and Wolverine gets adamantium."

Also, at points the story seemed... choppy. The story, plot, and carrying those on the film didn't seem to flow well, in my opinion. The first time I watched it, it was fine because I looked forward to seeing Wilson/Deadpool, then I rewatched it and noticed these bits and pieces that seemed to cut the story. It's like someone drew a straight line at points it becomes a dotted line and instead of being straight it veers off to random directions.

The movie in general was okay. Some good bits, more of them bad bits (naughty bits, hurp durp Monty Python reference).

Seen it too, pretty good. The lack of effects was abit distracting but Gambit is easily my favourite character in the whole thing.
