I just finished watching the movie in an incomplete form (Some of the special effects weren't finished) and man did it surpass all of my expectations.
I've been a little worried about Marvel films for a while now. Iron Man and Hulk we're definitely a start in the right direction for Marvel getting back on their feet, but after seeing Punisher War Zone (the movie was good, but not excellent) I was a little worried that they were slipping. They're line up of future movies looks pretty good (Captain America, etc) and I am hoping that they are going to incorporate the whole S.H.E.I.L.D. and hulk teaming up with ironman theme they had going for them in Iron Man + Hulk, but they haven't done that with Punisher and even in Origins: Wolverine (which I was hoping they would).
Now Origins had me worried because they had so many "villains" in the trailer that I thought "oh no here comes another spiderman fiasco". That however did not happen. The story was very well put together and they avoided said spiderman syndrome in a way that was interesting (don't want to spoil anything).
Overall it's graphically what you expect from Marvel (action was tight, special effects we're good) and the fighting wasn't overplayed or overdone. The plot was very good for being a film that was not entirely based on any comic (which also had me worried)
I'm not going to spoil too much. I will say that if you enjoy comic book movies then you will probably enjoy this one. If your skeptical about the film like I was then I still advise giving it a go.
