X3: Terran Conflict

I found out about this game from a friend who owns it and he made me an Iso to check it out. After many attempts to play the game I still can't execute it due to the Tages Protection. In short though, I have been reading up about it on the net, watching videos and drooling at all the content on offer and now I'm considering buying it. Which is something I never do if I haven't played a game before as I'm a very poor student with bills etc to pay.

I was just wondering if any of you have played it? Like or loathe it. I'm just wondering if it's as good as it looks.

Never played the X series before, I enjoy sim games, enjoy space games and I have alot of patience.

I will play Starcraft at some point (really enjoyed the first one) but I'm just a bit over simple RTS games at the moment. Even SupCom has turned into something I can do drunk, hungover or half asleep.

It's kinda like EVE but singleplayer only. It's probably the best of its kind, not counting eve here cause it's a MMO, so I'd say hell yes. It's good that you have alot of patience tho cause you will sure as hell need it.

Also, get it from steam, think you can be pretty rid of the nasty copy-protection there.

edit: this is pretty much just a post saying: if you can afford it, play EVE instead, if not X3 will keep you going for a looooooong time

I thought this was talking about some new Terran gameplay from SC2. I was sadly disappointed.

Yeah. From what I have heard from reviews and other people is that it's pretty much just like EVE Online, but offline. Was a huge fan of EV: Nova and still play it on occasion. Like I said, only reason I'm asking is because I can't try before I buy.
