XBL Woes...

OK, so I've got a question for you fine people of The Escapist.

Originally, when the RE5 demo had come out, I really wanted to download it. So, I got a 1-Month gold subscription, and prepared myself to download it.

I went to the download area, and attempted to download it. However, it kept saying that I wasn't old enough to, even though my age for it was set to 21.

So, can anyone help me here?

XBL has been stuffing around lately for a lot of people, including myself, so it may just be a problem on their end. So hopefully they'll fix it fast. They're pretty good like that.

Does the Email you used say you were younger? I believe once you sign up for gold it goes off the email info, though I could be talking out my ass. There is a simple fix though, make a new silver account(sorry to tell you but RE5 the demo is out on silver now) and have the email you used say your 100, and have the file say your 100 just to be on the safe side, then download it on that file. You might say, "But Black Lincon, you centurion genius, I wanted to play on my file."

Well I would laugh and say, "My fine fellow, You can!" Yep, if you download the demo on one file it's available for all on the system.

Why not just buy the game i dont see why you couldnt just save up some money.

Yeah, I had/have that issue also. I see your Australian, and me also being an Australian, maybe it only affects Aussie's? Not sure. GamerDakota are you Australian? That might be the issue here...

Why not just buy the game i dont see why you couldnt just save up some money.

Or he could do the fiscally responsible thing and test the game first. RE5 wasn't a perfect game and depending on how attached he is to moving and shooting he might not want to get it.

If he is interested in playing then he sould buy no reason not to. Demos can make or break a game. Remeber the Mirrors edge demo. It overhyped the game and then when it was released people found the game mediocre at best.

I can honestly say I don't, I'll take your word for it. Well I can say with all certainty that this demo is an accurate representation of almost all aspects of the game. I can't tell you what games he's like or if he's played RE4 and liked that so I'm going to suggest going the rout that doesn't require you to spend money unnecessarily, another thing we don't know about Mr. Dakota is whether or not he has a job.

I've got the same problem- M rated games are for 18 and older, right? Well, my brother turned 18 January, and I still can't download M-rated demos from his XBL.

in his profile he list that his occuaption is a writer. Also if he wasted the money to buy a 1-month gold then he already has wasted money unecessarily. you have your opinon i have mine.

the user information in the email determines the type of account you get (child or adult) however child accounts doesn't change automatically when you turn 18.
you have to go into account setting and upgrade or whatever they call it (or at least i had to) it also required a credit card of some sort e.g. visa, visa electron etc (it uses the information to confirm that you actually are 18, strange that they don't always do that ).
